**Chapter 40: The Balancing Act of Love and Jealousy**
The Jeon household was quieter than usual, except for the soft coos of their baby girl and the gentle hum of Mingyu’s voice as he fed her in the nursery. Mingyu sat in the cozy rocking chair, a soft blanket draped over his shoulders as their daughter latched on, her tiny hands resting against him.
Wonwoo leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed, watching the scene unfold with an unreadable expression. His heart swelled with pride and love at the sight of his husband nourishing their child, but there was a nagging sensation in his chest that he couldn’t quite shake.
Mingyu noticed Wonwoo’s lingering gaze and smiled knowingly. “You’re staring again,” he teased, his voice soft to avoid startling the baby.
Wonwoo straightened, stepping into the room. “I can’t help it,” he admitted, sitting on the ottoman in front of Mingyu. “You look... beautiful like this.”
Mingyu’s cheeks flushed, but he chuckled. “Are you jealous of your own daughter?”
Wonwoo didn’t respond immediately, but the slight pout on his lips gave him away. “Maybe a little,” he mumbled. “She gets all of your attention now.”
Mingyu laughed, the sound light and genuine, making the baby stir slightly before settling again. “Wonwoo, you’re ridiculous,” he said, leaning forward to press a kiss to his husband’s forehead. “There’s plenty of me to go around.”

The reality of breastfeeding wasn’t always as picturesque as the moment Wonwoo had just witnessed. Mingyu often struggled with the discomfort that came with it. Some days, his chest felt heavy and sore, the milk ducts clogged and causing a dull ache that radiated through him.
One such evening, Mingyu sat on their bed, fidgeting uncomfortably. He winced as he tried to adjust himself, his hands pressed against his chest to alleviate the pain.
Wonwoo, ever the observant husband, noticed immediately. “What’s wrong?” he asked, already moving to sit beside Mingyu.
“It’s just... clogged,” Mingyu admitted, his voice laced with frustration. “It hurts, and I don’t know what to do.”
Without hesitation, Wonwoo rolled up his sleeves. “Let me help.”
Mingyu blinked at him, unsure. “Wonwoo, you don’t—”
“I want to,” Wonwoo cut him off, his tone firm yet gentle. “You’re in pain, and I can’t just sit here.”
---
Under Wonwoo’s careful guidance, they used a warm compress, and Wonwoo massaged the tender areas with a surprising amount of skill and tenderness. His touch was firm but never harsh, and his brows furrowed in concentration as if solving one of the complex problems from his work.
Mingyu let out a small sigh of relief as the tension began to ease. “You’re too good at this,” he murmured, half-joking.
Wonwoo smirked, wiping his hands after ensuring Mingyu felt better. “I’m a quick learner. And I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure you’re comfortable.”
Mingyu looked at him with a mixture of amusement and adoration. “You know, this jealousy thing you’ve got going on? It’s kind of cute.”
Wonwoo raised an eyebrow, feigning offense. “Jealousy? I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Mingyu laughed, his shoulders shaking slightly. “Sure you don’t. But don’t worry, Mr. Jeon. You’ll always be my number one.”
---
Later that night, as the baby slept peacefully in her crib, Mingyu rested against Wonwoo’s chest. Wonwoo’s hand absentmindedly ran through Mingyu’s hair, his other hand resting protectively on Mingyu’s waist.
“You’re incredible, you know that?” Wonwoo whispered, breaking the silence.
Mingyu hummed in response, too tired to form words.
Wonwoo smiled, his heart brimming with love. Even with the challenges and adjustments they faced as new parents, every moment felt worth it. And though he sometimes felt a twinge of jealousy, it was nothing compared to the overwhelming pride he felt for the beautiful family they had created together.
