Mingyu had made it very clear the night before: he was mad at Wonwoo. Furious, even. The pregnancy discomforts had pushed him to the edge, and he had spent an hour blaming everything, from his swollen feet to his sleepless nights, on his husband.
But by the next morning, that anger had fizzled out into something much softer—something Wonwoo immediately recognized as peak Mingyu clinginess.
Wonwoo was in his home office, going over a few files, when the door creaked open. He didn’t even have to look up.
“Gyu,” he called without turning his head, “you’re supposed to be resting.”
“I’m bored,” Mingyu whined from the doorway.
Wonwoo glanced up to see Mingyu standing there, pouting, his oversized shirt barely hiding his baby bump. His hair was slightly messy, his expression a perfect mix of sulkiness and neediness.
“You were mad at me yesterday,” Wonwoo reminded him with a teasing smirk. “What happened to that?”
Mingyu stomped into the room, plopping himself onto the couch with exaggerated effort. “I’m still mad,” he muttered, though his tone lacked any real conviction. “But that doesn’t mean I want to be alone.”
Wonwoo chuckled softly, putting his papers down and turning his chair to face him. “What do you want, Gyu?”
Mingyu crossed his arms, his pout deepening. “You.”
That single word sent a wave of warmth through Wonwoo. He pushed himself out of his chair and made his way over to his husband, kneeling down in front of him. “You’ve got me. Always.”
Mingyu’s pout wavered, and he opened his arms wide. “Then hold me.”
The rest of the day was marked by Mingyu’s unrelenting need for attention. He followed Wonwoo everywhere—into the kitchen while he grabbed coffee, into the living room while he made phone calls, and even into the bathroom, where he sat on the closed toilet lid, chatting away while Wonwoo brushed his teeth.
“I’m like your shadow today,” Mingyu said with a sheepish grin as Wonwoo helped him waddle back to the couch after their third trip to the kitchen.
“A very adorable shadow,” Wonwoo replied, pressing a kiss to Mingyu’s temple.
By the evening, Mingyu’s clinginess had reached its peak.
“I can’t sleep without you,” he complained when Wonwoo suggested finishing some work in his office after dinner.
“You slept fine without me before we were married,” Wonwoo teased, but the look Mingyu shot him was so pitiful that he sighed and relented.
As they lay in bed that night, Mingyu curled up against Wonwoo, his hand resting over his husband’s heart. “You know, I’m still mad at you,” he mumbled, his voice drowsy but affectionate.
“I know,” Wonwoo said with a soft chuckle, running his fingers through Mingyu’s hair. “And I know you’ll forgive me by tomorrow.”
“Hmm,” Mingyu murmured, already half-asleep. “Maybe. But only because you’re the best pillow in the world.”
Wonwoo smiled, pulling Mingyu closer. No matter how intense Mingyu’s clinginess became, he wouldn’t trade these moments for anything. They were his favorite reminders of how deeply his husband loved him—and how deeply he loved Mingyu in return.
