It's the end of April.
Me and Sammy have been dating for about 4 months now.
Nate's been less chill about it now. He's actually quite ok with it. Everyone in school pretty much knows about us at this point. So now there's nothing to hide. It's so much easier too. Not having to hide anything about me and Sam.
Although a lot of people talk about us and our relationship... we're not the most talked about subject right now. That would have to be...
Prom.
Everyone's talking about it. The girls and the guys. Even some teachers are bringing up the subject. There have been so many guys asking girls out to prom it's not even funny. Every day more than once there's this huge promposal. I never got why people make such a big deal out of it. It's just a dance.
Speaking of which, just another person got asked to prom. This one just so happened to be Jillian. The guy of course being one of the jocks on the football team. I'm pretty sure he was the quarterback, but I didn't care.
I rolled my eyes and closed my locker door.
"I don't get what the big deal is about prom." I said.
My words caused both Leigh and Mallory to close their locker doors and look at me in shock. Take it they really like prom...
"What?" I asked.
"Prom is only one of the best things ever Riley. Especially here. People say our proms are some of the best around." Leigh told me.
"Ya, and not to mention spending time with the person you like." Mallory added.
"Aww are you talking about me again." Johnson all of a sudden came up to her.
Oh ya, did I mention Mallory and Johnson are dating? Or at least they're going to prom together. But by the sight of his arm around her waist I suggest they are a couple.
Gilinsky, Sam, and Nate also came up to us. Sam came and stood beside me.
"We weren't talking about you silly." Mallory laughed.
"We were talking about prom and how this one thinks it's stupid." Leigh added referring to me.
"I didn't say it was stupid. I just never got the big idea. It's just a dance." I shrugged.
The boys laughed. Except for Sam. He didn't laugh. Damn... what if Sam's asking me to prom? I mean since we're a couple, wouldn't he want to take me to prom?
The bell rung signaling for lunch. Johnson and Mallory left us, Gilinsky and Leigh leaving as well. Nate smirked at us then ran after them. Leaving me and Sam by ourselves. I chuckled to myself and went to put my backpack over my shoulder. But Sam grabbed it from me.
"You don't have to carry it for me." I laughed.
"I know. But I want to." He said and grabbed onto my hand as we started walking to lunch. "So, you are coming to my party tonight right?"
"Well of course I am. I think we both know you'll drag me there even if I didn't want to go."
"Well it's just special and I wanted you there too."
"Sam I'll be there. Don't worry."
He smiled and I just leaned up to kiss his cheek. At that he let go of my hand and put his arm around my shoulders.
I have to say, I'm really liking this whole me and Sam thing. He's such a great person.
