Two Augusts ago
"Come on, Ara! We'll be late again if you don't hurry up." Kaito motioned for his best friend to finally come out of his family's house. The black haired teen has slept in again, and they barely had the time to enter the class before the bell rung. "Dude, next time, wake up on time. I'm not running to school with you ever again. Man, I'm so tired." Their first class was maths, one of the subjects Kaito hated the most. Maths' one of these things you either liked or hated, and he definitely was on the 'WE HATE MATHS'party. Arata, on the other hand, liked maths. He was good at... whatever all these shit was about. "Oi, extra! Did you bring lunch? I'm starving!" Katsuki Bakugo. The biggest jerk is known in the whole of Japan, but what wouldn't you do for a bit of popularity? And popularity is what matters most - that's what Arata's father told him.
"Listen, son. It's all about how other people think about you. Don't show them what you really think. You are not allowed to show any weaknesses. You must stay strong all the time. For your mother. And for your sisters. After my... death... You will be the man in the house. Stay strong for them, even if you're dying on the inside." These were his last words towards his only son. His last words before the cancer took him away from his family and the world of the living. It probably had another meaning, but 9 year old Arata didn't want to think about the deeper message while his dad died. But now, 14 year old Arata started asking questions.
"Yea, of course I've got lunch. Do you want some?" He took out the lunchbox his sister prepered for him earlier this morning. It was one of these cute things with the toast cut into dinosaurs and colourful fruit and vegetables. "Looks good, I'll take it." And that being said, the lunchbox was ripped out of Arata's hands. "Hey, Bakugo, don't you think it's rude to just take your friend's lunch from him? He offered you a bit, not the whole thing. At least say thank you..." Kaito tried to step up for his friend, but the blonde harshly spoke."HAH?! WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?! YOU'RE LUCKY I'M NOT BLASTING YOUR HEAD OF RIGHT NOW! And who said I consider you my friends? You and that other extra are just pathetic losers who dream of being just like me." Well, that's a shocker.
Ah, not the fact that Bakugo thought like that of them, the fact that Arata's cheeks started to heat up at Kaito's action. The gray-haired teen was obsessed with that angry pomeranian. Arata didn't think he would say something against him. That was something completely new to him. The burning sensation on his skin didn't leave until the bell rang and announced for another lesson to start.
He asked his oldest sister about that - Nao. She was really good at explaining things and knew a lot. "You are in love, little brother. And it seems like you're gay or something like that, too." In love and gay were the parts of her explenation which bothered him the most. It's not like he has something against the LGBTQ+ community or something against people in love, but... How would he react?
I told the truth
Some time has passed since Arata realised he had feelings - romantical feelings - for his best friend. And Nao pressured him into confessing. He only agreed because it was almost the end of the schoolyear (Schoolyear ends in like 4 months but m'kay), and he wouldn't need to see Kaito for... some time if he rejects him. Arata was spacing out, like he has been ofthen of since August.
