Another Super?!

Drowned

As they crawled through the pipes again Robin couldn't stop worrying about Alana. Somehow the shy and caring, yet stubborn and inquisitive girl had wormed her way into his small circle of true friends not only as Robin, but also as Dick Grayson too.

"Four minutes."

As he heard this Robin started counting, 'she lost air about a minute ago which means I've got about three minutes left before she has permanent damage.' He looked at the map again and, realizing they had arrived, removed a panel and dropped to the floor; Artemis following a second later. As they reached the ledge he spoke into his comm, "okay, make with the distraction."

"Hey, Red Tomato! Who's your girlfriend? Red Onion?"

"Yeah," Conner piped up, "and by the way: worst death trap ever! We can escape anytime we want!"

"I can vibrate my molecules out of here before your binary brains can count to two."

"Cover me," Robin said as he clipped a line to the Cave wall and zipped down it to the generator.

"And you can't drown a kryptonian dumbbots, we don't breathe air. Supergirl's just enjoying the water right now, after all she's even stronger than me."

"And Miss Martian?" Wally laughed, "I can't believe you're buying her act!"

"Rerouting power now," Robin reported after putting the vircator into place.

"Yeah! You know how hot it gets in the caves of Mars?"

"It's not working," Robin muttered when the androids didn't shut down. He looked over the setting again to find the problem and spotted it almost immediately. "The circuit's incomplete. I need something conductible. A piece of metal or-"

"ROBIN LOOK OUT!!"

Unfortunately Artemis's warning came a step too late as Robin was thrown off the generator by Torpedo's giant wave.

Artemis attempted to use her last arrow to hit Torpedo but a fireball from Inferno caught her off guard and made her miss. Finding no more arrows in her quiver, Artemis retreated back into the pipes and narrowly missed getting barbecued as Inferno attempted to flood the pipe with flames. She continued to crawl through the system until she came upon a crack large enough to see through. Looking down she spotted Torpedo using his power to retrieve an unconscious Robin, while Conner and Wally stayed mostly submerged and Kaldur and M'gann remained in the flame cage. She fell back onto her haunches as she felt the stress and pressure of the situation momentarily overwhelm her; realizing the fate of the Team, her friends, rested squarely on her. "No. No. No. Nononononononono."

As she sat curled up in the pipe she decided to go over her options as she saw them. "I surrender: I die with the others. But if I find a way out. Out of the Cave, out of the mountain. I can get help. Call in the League." Unfortunately for her she slipped and started sliding down the pipe, only to fall through a vent and into Wally's souvenir room.

"Three minutes."

"Ah, who am I kidding?" She asked as she sat up. "Best I can do is hide. Hope the League finds me before the Reds." She looked over at the only shelf with anything on it and walked over to stand in front of it, one souvenir in particular drawing her attention. "I know you understand," she told her sister's old mask as she remembered the night Jade had left her with their dad. "That might have been true about our family," she said as she picked up the mask. "But I found a new family. And here we're all for one and one for all." She put the mask back and looked at the other souvenirs. 'Gotta act fast. Alana especially doesn't have much time left." As she saw her arrow she got an idea.

"Two min-"

The elevator dinged as it stopped and Artemis stepped out. "I surrender," she told the Reds as she approached them. "Stop the clock." She glanced to the side to see Robin was still unconscious but kept walking, holding her bow in clear view in front of her. The Reds walked towards her and Torpedo held out his hand for her bow when they stopped. She gripped it and quickly jumped onto his hand, kneeing his head. Inferno was about to launch another fireball at her but she stepped in her faceplate and backflipped off. As she came down she nocked and fired her arrow at the tiny spot between the vircator and the generator plate, completing the circuit and activating the EMP wave. Torpedo and Inferno had barely stood back up when the wave hit them and their systems shut back down, causing the flames to dissipate and the water level to drop back to normal.
