It's About Time

I shakily stood up, but tumbled back to the ground as the bioship rocked from the vines dragging it into the water.

We all looked up as something kept hitting the top of the bioship. A moment later Black Adam tore a hole in the roof and M'gann groaned in pain, "he's hurting her."

Conner and I jumped up and delivered a double uppercut to his chin, knocking him away. Unfortunately this gave the vines an opportunity to pull us further into the water and it started to pour through the hole and flood the cabin.

"No. No way I'm nearly drowning three missions in a row," Artemis said matter-of-factly, and put a rebreather in her mouth, handing one to Wally as well.

"Wow. Uh, thanks," he said, taking the device.

"M'gann, we need to get out. Open a hatch," Conner said, putting his hand on her shoulder to ground her.

"Hello Megan. Of course." M'gann grew gills and dove under, with Conner and myself following close behind her. She opened another hole in the bottom of the bioship and Kaldur ordered us out over the mind-link.

We swam our way clear of the vines and surfaced in a clearing not far from the bioship.

"She's in shock. She'll need time to recover," M'gann said as we watched the bioship get pulled the rest of the way under the water.

A moment later we were all struck by a nauseating wave of vertigo and fell to the ground. "Vertigo," Wally said, looking up at the villain.

"Count Vertigo to you peasant," he corrected. I attempted to hit him with my heat vision, but he saw it coming and hit me with an extra hard wave, throwing off my aim. "Let's not be hasty little girl. We wouldn't want to ruin the Joker's fun too soon now would we? Adam?" Before I could react Black Adam came barreling in and backhanded me into a tree.

I could barely keep conscious long enough to see Conner get knocked out as well. My vision was almost completely black as Kaldur attacked Vertigo, and the last thing I remember is Robin's worried expression as he looked at me.

I groaned as I came to. Sitting up I saw Kaldur try to break the bars of the golden cage we were in. Unfortunately his abilities weren't strong enough and he had to stop.

"Please, Atlantean. Do not pretend you are in my league," the guy flying beside us, who I recognized as the evil sorcerer Wotan mocked.

I snarled at him and sent a shot of my heat vision his way. He must have thought of that because the beams hit a translucent wall of magic.

"I suppose you didn't hear me when I said that even you and your brother can't escape this cage." I growled in response, but that turned into a smirk once I caught sight of a red object coming up fast. "What are you grinning about?"

"Nunya," I responded, right before the bioship rammed into him and sent him sailing into the bog, eliminating the cage. I flew down and caught Wally and Artemis before they could hit the ground, setting them down safely instead. I barely caught Vertigo calling us 'delinquents' and spun around in the air, "hey, I'm a straight A student! And if we're delinquents what does that make you guys?"

"Good point," Wally said as he raced toward Vertigo and Adam. However, Vertigo sent out his waves and Adam backhanded the slowed speedster.

"Where are Robin and the Martian?!"

"Heads up ugly," I shouted and plowed into Adam from behind, sending him sprawling. He was just getting up when we heard a massive explosion and the plant coming from the domed building fell apart with a noise similar to a screech. Looking through the smoke and flames showed Robin and M'gann standing on the dome.
