Mu Miao ran lightly toward Raphael, but slowed his steps upon seeing Cecivido standing beside him.
Hesitant and guilty, he glanced at Cecivido. The moment he reached Raphael, he immediately hid behind him, cautiously peeking out to keep an eye on Cecivido.
Raphael, wasting no time, carefully examined Mu Miao's eyes. Only after confirming that they had returned to normal did he relax, affectionately patting his head.
Seeing their intimate interaction as if no one else were present, Cecivido raised an almost imperceptible eyebrow. He turned to Raphael and spoke in a low voice, "What's wrong with Sariel's body?"
"Nothing," Raphael blurted out. Noticing the dangerous glint in Cecivido's eyes, he hesitated before correcting himself, "Nothing serious. It's a minor issue from birth that only Father can resolve."
Raphael's words were a mixture of truth and falsehood, making it difficult for Cecivido to discern.
Cecivido responded meaningfully, "Is that so?"
His gaze shifted to Mu Miao, who immediately took a step back, completely hiding behind Raphael.
Protecting Mu Miao, Raphael faced Cecivido head-on. "Of course."
Mu Miao was now extremely wary of Cecivido, wanting nothing more than to avoid him. Whenever their eyes met, Mu Miao was the first to look away, his gaze darting nervously.
Cecivido stared at Mu Miao, his stern face brewing with unreadable emotions. "Sariel, won't you speak to me?"
They had been fine before. Was Mu Miao upset because he had been forced to witness such a bloody scene?
Cecivido regretted his actions. As the Vice Sovereign of Heaven, he had always managed its affairs flawlessly. This was the first time he felt a sense of remorse.
Faced with Mu Miao's rejection, Cecivido was at a loss. Though inwardly flustered, his outward expression only became harsher. His sharp, striking features exuded an even stronger sense of oppression.
Frightened by Cecivido's severe expression, Mu Miao's voice became soft and timid. "Cecivido... Thank you for bringing me back. I—I... Raphael, I want to go home."
Mu Miao could not find the words to say anything more. Helpless, he turned to Raphael, pleading for him to take him away.
"Alright, I'll take you back."
With one hand on Mu Miao's waist, Raphael led him past Cecivido. He nodded to Cecivido and said, "If there's nothing else, I'll take Sariel back first."
With that, he took Mu Miao and flew straight to the Eighth Heaven.
Sariel's palace was devoid of lower-ranked angels to serve him. To Sariel, these angels were merely distractions to his studies, so he had asked Raphael to send them all away.
After escorting him back, Raphael lingered, the colorful paint still smeared across his face. With a look of anticipation, he asked Mu Miao, "Do you want me to stay and keep you company today?"
Mu Miao pushed him toward the door. "No need. I can take care of myself. Raphael-gege, you should head back."
Raphael teased, "Little Sariel, this is really a case of kicking the donkey after it's done grinding. Now that you don't need me, you're rushing me out the door. Brother is truly heartbroken."
"Brother," Mu Miao looked at him helplessly. "Please stop joking. I'm genuinely terrified of Cecivido."
Raphael burst out laughing and pinched Mu Miao's soft and delicate cheek. "Ceci really is cold and distant, indifferent to everyone. It's understandable you're afraid of him."
