Chapter 18: Me Either...

Oh shoot. He cussed- I poke him gently. "W-Wait," he pushes me back, "isn't Finn the guy you had a crush-"
"Yeah... We dated for a while too, but it wasn't anything serious, you know-"
"I don't know. You dated Finn?"
"Yeah? Is that a problem?"
"Well, no, but I just feel like- Isn't it, like, awkward to date someone and then actually be good friends after?"
"Yeah, but we manage." He sounds angry for some reason, is he angry?
"Let me meet this guy."
"Are you mad at me?" I awkwardly play with my hair. My nerves are bothered.
"No. Just- Let's meet this guy. Right now." Now? While you're so close to me, making my heart pound?

"Why? Rio, I don't want to... I wanna snuggle you... Do we have to meet him? Right now?" I lean in closer and hug him. I feel him relax and pull him back into my lap. "Why don't we meet your bestfriend, Renn?" I say, unable to not slip jealousy into my tone. Rio nods.
"Okay!" Really? He wants to see her right now? Maybe my suspicion was right... Maybe he likes her... Some bestfriends snuggle... Not usually a girl and boy, but... Maybe he doesn't like me back. I really thought he might... "I'll text her." He motions to get off me.
"No, Rio..." I grab his phone from the side table which was closer to me, then I hand the phone to him. "Here. You can text her right here..." I snuggle up closer to him, kissing his neck lightly.

"Uhmm," he tilts his head with a light noise, "are- Are you sure that we should see Renn at this exact moment? I don't know if-" Of course, I need to see how she is around Rio. My Rio...
"Yes, right now." He hesitates before he starts to type to Renn to go to his location to hangout. She has his location? I kiss his neck again and pull him closer.
"Selena? Why are you-? Hey..."
"Does Renn ever flirt with you?"
"Haha... Yeah? Is that a bad thing?" Does... Does he really not see the issue? I'm literally snuggling him and kissing his neck and he still doesn't notice that I like him or notice that I don't like the fact that he's been flirting with her?!

"She's on her way, by the way..." Fuck. I don't want her here anymore. Oh, well.
"Get off your phone, then." I hug him tighter. He puts his phone down and comes closer. "Do you remember how I would ruin whoever bullied you other than me?" Rio nods. "Are you still confused about it?" He murmurs a confirmation. "Well, I don't like when others get too close to you, even if it's to bully you... So, I might get possessive if Renn gets close to you, is that okay?"
"Yeah, it's okay..." We stay snuggled up to each other until I hear loud knocking on the door. I shove Rio off of me, still angry that this girl flirts with Rio. I open the door to see this girl. Oh shit. She is pretty. Really pretty.

She has brightly colored tattoos and some bracelets, along with a knitted dress with an eye-covered design, blocky, leather heels, four necklaces, a spiral, eye, a guitar pick, and a black cat, and a septum piercing with a star at each end. How should I even feel?
"Hi!" She looks behind me. "HIII BESTIE!" She hugs me quickly and then goes and hugs Rio tightly. "You're cute as ever!" WHAT.? "I see you've even got yourself a girrlfrieend~" Uhm-
"No, Selena isn't my girlfriend and you know it..." Know it? He talks about me?
"Oh riiight, she's your bully? Really? She seems nice? Why not, is she a fellow lesbian?!" Oh. I don't have to worry about her then...
"No, close enough, she's pansexual."

"Really?! Yo, dude, hook me up!" Wait... She wants me? She's for real lesbian? Like, actually? What..? "She's really cute, so if you don't want her-"
"Uhm... I-" She walks over and grabs my hand, taking me to the couch. Rio follows and sits down with us.
"I'm just fucking with you. Or am I~?" She leans in playfully and Rio pulls her away, giving her a stern look.
"Are you fucking kidding me? Leave her alone, Renn. Or else." *Wait- Is Rio jealous? How does that work?
"Damn. Are you okay, Rio? You're-"
"I'm fine... Just leave her alone." She nods. She's still too close...

I know she's lesbian, but I grab Rio anyway, hugging him from behind and pulling him onto my lap. I look at him for a second and then peck his neck.
"S-Selena-" He tilts his head.
"I told you what would happen if you cuss, did I not?" Renn looks at us.
"So you ARE dating, Rio?!"
"N-No, we're just friends! Promise!" Don't fucking promise that to her! Back and forth and back and forth, she looks at both of us, then all of a sudden-
"Wait, like, Friends with Benefits? FwBs? Is that what's going on here?"
Rio pauses, pulls back to look at me.
"Are we? I mean, if Friends with Benefits doesn't always mean, uhm-You know... Then, are we?" Well...

"I mean, yeah... I think so..."
"Y'all are so cute togetherrr! Wait, does Friends with Benefits mean you're available, Selena?" Renn asks. Of course fucking not! What the hell?!
"No. No relationships, duh..." I say.
"Ohh... That makes a bunch of sense."
"Anyway, since you know what me and Rio are, I just have one things to say. There is one string attached, which is that he's mine... So, anyone that wants him needs to fuck off... You know?"
"Yeah, okay!" I mean, she's lesbian. I don't gotta worry about her. But still... I don't like it when anyone is too close to Rio...

Wait a minute- I really just agreed that me and Rio are Friends with Benefits! Does that mean... Benefits... We can... Wha... I'm blushing now... Fuck... This is... He can do things with me... I can do things with him... This is way too much?! What do I do now?! Fuck... "Anywayyys, I was just stopping by, so I'm gonna leave now." She gets up from the couch. "Byye!" Oh, thank goodness. As soon as the door closes, we sigh.
"Selena? Are we really... F-Friends with Benefits now?" I hesitate. How am I supposed to answer this question?!
"Y-Yes. Yeah, we're Friends with Benefits... Unless you aren't okay-"
"U-Uh, no, I'm okay with it, it's not that  I don't want to be that, I was just making sure it was o-okay with you..."

"Uhm, Rio?" I turn him around to be in my lap while facing me. His eyes are so mesmerizing and pretty right now...
"Y-Yes, Selena?" Fuck, uhm...
"Can I kiss you?" Fuck, I'm so nervous.
"Yeah..." I watch his eyes flutter closed before I close mine and I kiss him gently. His lips are so gentle and soft, it matches his personality perfectly... I pull away after a few more seconds. I don't want him to be uncomfortable.
"That was, uhm, wow..." Wait, what?
"Better than our first time, hm?"
"The Truth or Dare? It wasn't bad?"
"You... Don't remember?" Rio gasps a little and teasingly hits my arm.
"Oh, I remember now... You made me so mad!" I laugh and reminisce.

When me and Rio were in middle school, I kissed him on the lips for a dare. I definitely kissed him a little longer than I needed, and I pretended I was severely grossed out by it.
"Were you really disgusted at the time?" Oh, shit... He remembers that part. What do I say? What do I do? Is he gonna hate me if I say yes? Is he gonna think I'm weird if I say no? I guess weird is better than hated, but-
"Selena? You don't have to answer-"
"I wasn't. I wasn't really disgusted... I wanted to do the dare to show off to my friends, but I also wanted to make sure I didn't waste my first kiss on someone I didn't know, so I figured... I figured you were the best option. Are you mad at me for doing that? I know it wasn't okay to lie and whatever..."
