5. MY LADY

I really can't believe what just happened earlier. Our CEO just called me in for a meeting inside his office to discuss my next project. It's another web drama, and this time instead of Kang Seung Yoon who's the leader of Winner tulad ng napag-usapan before, isang baguhan ang makakapareha ko. Walang iba kundi 'yung sinasabi ni Cheondong na mukhang psychopath na tumabi sa 'kin habang nagsasayaw sa Music Bank. His name was V of BTS or Bangtan Boys. And according to our CEO, shooting will start two weeks from now.

Kinilabutan ako sa totoo lang nang malaman ko kasi medyo creepy naman talaga s'ya. Although I really hope he's not actually that creepy in real life. It would be such a feat pag nagkataon. Aish! For sure pagtatawanan na naman ako nina Cheondong at Chanyeol kapag nalaman nila 'to.

In two days makikilala ko na s'ya in person kasama ang iba pang members ng cast and crew for the script reading and look test.

Nanghinayang ako for Seung Yoon. Excited pa naman kami pareho para sa project na 'to. We've been discussing about this for weeks. Saka mas kumportable sana ako since we work under the same label and alam kong hindi na namin kailangang mag-adjust masyado sa isa't isa.

I spent the remaining days of free time given to me working out in the gym. Payat ako pero medyo may konting flabs ako sa tyan kaya todo ang sit-ups ko. Hinihingal ako nang matapos ko ang routine.

"Hi Miss Park! Inom po muna kayo." Lumapit sa 'kin ang isang staff ng gym para iabot ang isang fancy energy drink.

Nakangiti naman akong tinanggap ito at nagpasalamat. Although nawirduhan ako nang konti
kasi usually may bayad ang ganitong sosyal na drink dito sa private gym.

Nang mainom ko ito saka ko naman napansin na may nakadikit pala na post-it sa gilid ng tumbler at may nakasulat pa na 'my lady'. Hala. Hindi kaya 'yung staff ang naglagay nito? Bakit kaya?

Agad kong hinanap ang staff. Nang muli ko syang makita sa may counter, I asked him about the note but I tried to sound nice about it.

"Excuse me. But did you stick this note here?" I asked him holding out the note para malaman n'ya kung anong tinutukoy ko.

"Hindi po, Miss Park. May nagpabigay po sa inyo ng drink. He also paid for all your energy drinks for the entire year kaya wala na po kayong aalalahanin." Malumanay na paliwanag n'ya.

"Ha? Sinong nagbayad? Anong pangalan?" Nagtatakang tanong ko.

"Sorry po pero di ko po kasi kilala. Instructions lang po ng manager namin. S'ya lang po ang may access sa records."

"Where is your manager then?"

"Nakabakasyon po kasi. Baka po next month pa ang balik."

I sighed in resignation. There's no use interrogating this guy. I also doubt it kung may mapiga akong information sa manager since super private and exclusive ang gym na 'to. They don't give out any information about their members kaya mahal ang fees. Saka membership is only done exclusively by invitation. Perfectly timed din ang usage ng gym with heavy security kaya hindi din nagkakakitaan ang mga members.

I wonder kung sino ang nakaalam na member ako dito. Teka nga. For all I know CEO lang namin ang nagbayad ng drinks ko. Bakit ko ba masyadong iniisip 'to? A free drink is a free drink. Bayad ng YG ang membership ko, so malamang everything else is put on YG's tab too.

Dumating ang araw ng first cast and crew meeting. I arrived in the venue just in time wearing a floral dress and matched it with red pumps. I actually got quite excited for this day since this is the second web drama entrusted to me as the lead. Ilang taon ko ding hinintay na pagbigyan ako ng YG to do acting projects. It's just that I was signed as a singer and not as an actress which was the main reason bakit tinatanggihan ng label ang lahat ng acting offers for me before.

"Dara, I'd like you to meet V, a member of BTS. He'll be playing the role of your boyfriend turned ex-boyfriend for the drama. One of the lead roles." Pakilala ng producer sa akin sa makakapareha ko.

I bowed down to the guy in front of me as courtesy and noticed that he too was wearing red shoes. Wow. Matching kami.

"It's my pleasure to finally meet you, my lady." He told me with a huge smile. Ang weird ng smile n'ya kasi kahit na nakangiti s'ya para pa rin s'yang poker-faced. Sigurado ba sila na marunong 'tong umarte?

"Did you just call me 'my lady'?" Gulat naman na tanong ko nang ma-realize ko kung ano ang sinabi n'ya.

But I don't think he heard my question well since he was already pulled by the other producer to be introduced to the other cast members.

It was quite a fun event to be honest. Everyone was so nice and professional. May ilan lang daw minor revisions na gagawin sa script and by the end of this week we'll probably receive our copies.

I heaved a sigh of relief when they said that kasi kailangan ko ding makabisa ang character ko at mga linya. Yes I was already an actress back in the Philippines, but I got focused in singing and dancing when I moved back here in Korea so medyo nangangapa akong muli in that department.

Wala akong masyadong interaction with V since the other lead guy was seated in between us. He doesn't look like the talkative kind either.

I wanted to talk to him sana about what he called me earlier. Sobrang coincidence kasi na 'my lady' din ang itinawag n'ya sa akin. Naalala ko kasi 'yung creepy note sa tumbler ko sa gym. But I immediately dismissed the thought since it's quite impossible. Nagkataon lang siguro talaga. Saka V looks harmless.

Nahuli naman ako ni V na nakatingin sa kanya kaya agad akong umiwas ng tingin at nagsimulang makipag-usap kay Hyoni, another actress, na katabi ko sa kanan.

That was awkward. Muntik na ko dun.
