“I can't believe you're staying with Kreese after everything he’s caused!” Miguel yelled at Amara.
“He was the only person who picked up the dojo. Dad is fine with it so I don't understand why it matters to you.” Amara told him back.
“Because you're my best friend, Ami. We're on two sides of a war.” Miguel said, “And not to mention your dad is disappointed in you. So why don't you come to Eagle Fang?”
“I don't give a shit about Eagle Fang! Ever since you were in the hospital, Dad had forgotten about me. The only time he was there was when my mom died.”
Miguel scoffed, “So this is my fault?” Amara took a deep breath and looked Miguel in the eyes. Miguel could tell Amara was about to say yes. “Seriously?”
“No, I'm not saying that.” Amara spoke.
“Then what are you saying?” Miguel asked.
Amara took a deep breath. “I don't know! I just- Sensei Kreese has helped me out a lot. He taught me to channel my anger to win tournaments. He taught me how to be a champion.”
“A champion?” He quizzed. “You lost to Robby Keene.”
“And so did you!” Amara yelled back. “You showed mercy because that's what my dad taught you. But if we show no mercy we are champions.”
“See, that's Kreese talking, Amara.” Miguel spoke, “You've let him get in your head. Sensei Lawrence has changed and I know that deep down inside you know that. No matter how many times you blame him, he is still your dad and he loves you.” Miguel continued.
Amara looked down at the ground. She felt her heart start to hurt. Miguel was right. Whether Amara wanted to admit it or not. “He has changed our lives so much and you know it.”
“LaRusso only taught you the basics but he didn't teach you how to truly fight like Sensei Lawrence did.” Miguel began to list, “He saved you from being taken by social services. Amara, he was there for you when nobody else was. Compared to that, what has Kreese done for you?”
Amara took a deep breath, “Miguel I-”
“Just think about joining Eagle Fang. Please.”
Amara saw the pity on Miguel’s face. “Ok, all right. I'll think about it. But that doesn't mean I'll switch dojos.”
Miguel formed a smile as she turned around and walked into Johnny’s apartment and shut the door behind her.
Amara went to her room and sat down on her bed. She thought about what Miguel said. He was absolutely right. Johnny has done so many things for her. What has Kreese really done?

Amara was at the dojo and Kreese was speaking to the class. He had the kids doing an exercise as he spoke. Block your head with the right, then strike with your left.
“Your goal is to win at all costs. Those we thought to be our allies have turned against us. Now our enemies are attacking us from all sides. There is no turning back. Now is the time to show them no mercy.”
Amara nodded her head as she joined back in with the rest of the Cobras doing the exercise.
“If a fight comes your way, finish it.” Kreese continued, “For good. Do I make myself clear?”
All the students stopped with the exercise and nodded their heads. “Yes, Sensei!”
