All of the tenth grade students had to go into school on Saturday morning to take the practice PSAT test. Amara had no intentions of going but since it was required, she went.

Her and Eli had sat down beside each other, Amara stared at the paper. She was tired of writing.

"What's going on?" Eli whispered over to her. "You've been like this since the other night at the movies." Eli just knew something wasn't right with Amara.

Amara sighed, and looked over at Eli. "If I tell you, you promise you won't say anything."

"I promise."

"I found out why my dad hates Sensei so much, and why he didn't want me to be in Cobra Kai." Amara whispered.

"Why?" Eli asked.

"Because I was adopted, and Sensei is my birth father."

"Holy shit. Seriously?"

"Yeah." Amara whispered.

"Your father is badass. Amara, that's Awesome."

"No, it's not." She told him. "This just means that he didn't want me. My dad told me to ask him why but I don't know if I should."

"Are you insane?" Eli asked her. "Amara, you're clearly wanting answers and if you want answers just ask. What'd you get for 83?"

Amara flipped back at her papers. "D." She told Eli.

Eli circled the answer on his paper. "Thank you."

The bell rang and all the students began to pick up their papers and turn them into the bin on their way out. The two began to walk out into the hallway.

"What's the big deal?" Eli asked Amara. "You want answers. So just walk up to Sensei and ask."

"Eli, it's not that easy." Amara told him.

"It's Hawk now." Eli corrected.

"Right. Sorry." It felt weird for Amara to call Eli 'Hawk' now. She had known him as Eli for so long, it was just something new. "I would ask Sensei but it's not fair to him to have to answer the questions."

"Well it's not fair to you to have to live with unanswered questions either." Eli reminded her. "Especially if it's about your birth father."

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Amara told him. Deep down she knew that he was right. Amara should ask Johnny why. She deserves to know why.

The two had met up with Demetri and Miguel over at the park, along with Bert and Aisha.

Miguel was going on a rant about Sam. He saw her eating dinner with a boy last night. A boy that fairly looked his age. Eli and Bert were sparring against each other while Aisha was super glued to her phone.

"Come on, eat something." Demetri told Miguel, handing him a sandwich. "It'll make you feel better."

"I told you I'm not hungry, man."

"I still think you're overreacting."

"I'm not overreacting, dude." Miguel said, "I know what I saw."

"All right, so you saw her eating dinner with some chode." Eli said, before he did a spinning back kick, making contact to Bert's face. He walked over to the back of the bench and leaned on it right behind Amara who was sitting in between Miguel and Aisha. "It was probably just her brother or something."

"No, dude." Miguel fussed. "Brothers don't look at their sisters like that."

"Depends what part of the country you're in." Demetri said.
