Kas

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, Kas thinks wryly. Of course, Zander Bernard is Ryan Bernard's son at the end of the day. He would have had Alice watched. Zander is still watching him impatiently. "Why am I helping Alice"? Kas repeats thoughtfully. "Aah, now I remember. I am helping her because she asked me to help her"! He adds insolently, "And for the next question you want to ask. What am I getting in return?? Nothing. I am just helping a lady trapped in a miserable marriage gain her freedom. A random act of kindness, that's all". While he is still speaking, he sees the anger build up in Zander. The face of an angry Zander which is so familiar to him. "There is no need for a dirty divorce fight", Zander almost spits out the words, "I will give her the divorce. There is no need for you to be involved any further."

Assuming a conclusion, Zander turns around to leave when Kas's voice comes out crisp and sharp at his receding back, "You won't be getting any custody rights to little Megan. I will make sure of it." He watches Zander's footsteps still. Zander turns around with an incredulous expression. "What did you say"? Kas's face is impassive, as he casually leans against his desk. "You heard me fine the first time". Zander's hands are now clenched into fists as he glares at Kas. "Elijah Gray! You have no say or rights in my personal life. How dare you, a stranger decide if I can keep my child or not?".

Kas watches Zander struggling to keep himself under control. He goads Zander further, "You were right when you asked me what was in it for me. I want Alice and Megan. The whole package. And I don't want you anywhere near them again. Yes, Zander, I am going to marry Alice and I am going to become Megan's father. I am going to make sure, that you don't get to see Megan ever again". He waves the last sentence like a red flag and sure enough the furious Zander comes at him like a raging bull. He fluidly ducks the punch that Zander throws at him. As Zander straightens up, Kas's strong punch connects with Zander's jaw. Zander staggers against a small side table, knocking a flower vase over. Kas feels the long-awaited satisfaction surge through his body. The feeling is incredible. He feels almost light headed. He watches, the thrill still buzzing in his veins as Zander slowly straightens up, wiping his bleeding lip. "Watch out Elijah Gray", he almost chokes out the words, still too incensed to speak, "You are messing with the wrong guy". Kas smiles at him, "Still the nasty bully, Zander? But it's your turn to be the dirty little fly now". He watches the confusion on Zander's face with satisfaction. "Neil, show our unwanted guest out. Inform security not to let him in the building again". Neil firmly takes Zander, who still staring at Kas, by the elbow and leads him out. Kas collapses to the floor, gasping. He pulls out his cell phone from his pocket and calls Dor. "I punched Zander Bernard. Bring over the best cake you have. We need to celebrate. Its "I punched Zander Day".

Dor

Chess gently pats her shoulder as she looks at Eli worriedly, "You are going to marry Alice for Megan? Eli, I understand you hate Zander for Kas and I am so thankful for it, but messing with your life for revenge, that's crazy"! Eli looks at her sadly. There is an unreadable expression in his eyes as he stares at her with those incredible gray eyes "If you had to marry someone for Kas's sake, would you do it??" She remains quiet for a moment then she gives a deep sigh "Yes, If I wasn't already married, I would do it for Kas". Eli 's eyes seem to be boring into her soul "Kas was right. Other than his Ma and Kaya, no one, no one loves him more than you do." He gets up fluidly, cat like grace in his body and his face brightens "So, let's talk about you, Dor. Are you serious about Chess."? She pointedly ignores Chess's eager expression, "Drake... Am worried how to how to speak to him".

Eli gives her a dazzling smile and Dor marvels absentmindedly just how beautiful he is to look at. "Leave the old man to me". He hums as he leaves the room, as though giving them a chance to be alone and work things out. Chess looks at her endearingly, his feelings splattered all over his face, like a gawky school boy with his first crush. "Dor, you won't change your mind, will you? Whatever happens, we will work it out. You will be with me, right?" She laughs out loud, the cheerful sounding ringing all over the room. She leans forwards and plants a soft kiss on his lips. The first kiss she has ever given out voluntarily to a man in her entire life. Though the kiss is brief, it tastes like freedom. "Yes, Chess, I will always be with you".
