Summer break had been a filled with adventures, banter, teasing, and laughter for Taehyung, Jungkook, and their close group of friends. But, all good things must come to an end.

The first day of grade 12 came for Taehyung, Jungkook, Hoseok, and Ji-Woo. Meanwhile, the older members of the group—Yoongi, Jimin, Namjoon, and Jin—prepared for the challenges of university life.

Yoongi, ever the rationalist, was pursuing a business degree, his calm and calculated nature was a perfect fit for the money world. Jimin, on the other hand, was training to become a kindergarten teacher, his bubbly personality and love for children often balanced Yoongi's serious personality.

Namjoon's passion for knowledge led him to major in English, dreaming of one day becoming a professor and author. Jin, his adorably ever-supportive boyfriend, had enrolled in culinary school, determined to become a renowned head chef with his honed cooking/baking skills.

The high schoolers, however, were less enthusiastic about their return to classes.

Jungkook stood outside Taehyung's house that morning, waiting for their usual walk to school. He blinked, surprised, when Taehyung pulled up in his car, honking the horn like a maniac.

"Really, Taehyung?" Jungkook rolled his eyes, approaching the vehicle. "Ruining the earth one car ride at a time?"

Taehyung rolled down the window, grinning. "Oh, come on. It's not like I'm driving a military tank. Besides, princess, you wouldn't want to show up all sweaty, would you?"

Jungkook crossed his arms, unimpressed. "I'd rather sweat than contribute to climate change. But sure, driver, lead the way."

As they drove off, their funny squabble continued.

"You're awfully talkative for someone who once begged me to carry him to class because his feet hurt," Taehyung teased, glancing at Jungkook out of the corner of his eye. He was referring to the time Jungkook fainted and Taehyung, ever the flirt, carried him bridal style all the way to the nurse's office.

"That was one time, and you offered," Jungkook retorted, rolling his eyes.

"And yet, here you are, questioning my generosity. Shame, princess."

"Drive faster before I walk instead," Jungkook complained, though the corner of his lips gave away his smile.

When they arrived at school, they found Hoseok and Ji-Woo already waiting by their lockers.

"Man, it feels weird not having Jin nagging us for being late," Hoseok commented, throwing an arm around Ji-Woo's shoulders.

Ji-Woo nodded, a nostalgic smile on his lips. "Tell me about it. I kind of miss him yelling, 'You'll miss breakfast!' even though we never did."

"I miss them too," Jungkook admitted sadly, shutting his locker with a clang.

Taehyung smirked, leaning casually against the wall. "Wow, Jungkook. You care more about them than me? Should I be jealous?"

"Maybe," Jungkook replied with a grin, earning a laugh from the group.

"Don't be too hard on him, Tae," Hoseok chimed in. "We all know you're his favorite."

Classes passed by with introductions, review lessons, and the occasional complaint. Hoseok and Jungkook ended up in the same math class, while Taehyung and Ji-Woo shared English. By lunchtime, they reunited to continue their complaints.

"Math is a nightmare," Hoseok groaned, dropping his tray on the table. "Why do numbers even exist?"

"I know, right?" Jungkook mumbled around a mouthful of rice. "Math sucks."
