The rest of the day's classes went as usual after their bizarre lunch break.
After classes, however, is when things really took a turn.
Taehyung waited for Jungkook near the school gates since they didn't have last class together.
Taehyung planned to confront Jungkook today, for real this time. As he was waiting for Jungkook, he anxiously fiddled with his year-old purple bracelet, which his mother gave to him as a birthday gift.
Whenever Taehyung got nervous or anxious, which was rare, he'd play with his bracelet or mother's old locket, which he forgot at home today.
Five minutes later, Jungkook finally arrives at the front gates, strangely limping slowly. Taehyung noticed how his hoodie no longer covered his cast.
Jungkook spots Taehyung and his eyes widen slightly. "Didn't think we were gonna walk home together today." Jungkook says when he reaches Taehyung.
Taehyung raises an eyebrow. "Are you kidding? You're literally injured, princess. If anything, now's the time to be sticking together." he says, rolling his eyes.
Jungkook nods. "Well, thanks." he says dismissively, completely used to the nickname by now.
Their walk towards Jungkook's house was abundant in silence. Jungkook's expression portrayed distress, however, the other didn't notice. Taehyung was too busy trying to figure out how to get Jungkook to talk.
Suddenly, Jungkook stumbled.
Luckily, Taehyung saw him trip through his peripheral vision and caught him. "Careful, princess." Taehyung teased, masking his inner chaotic thoughts.
"Yeah, sorry." Jungkook said, wincing slightly at the impact of his arm against Taehyung's chest.
Taehyung's eyes widened slightly. "Oh shit. This is your hurt arm, right?"
Jungkook nods, wincing again. Taehyung stared at him silently.
His arm shouldn't be hurting this much if it's only a sprain/fracture. He would know, he'd broken his arm in 5th grade during a rugby football game.
Jungkook seems to be shaking slightly. "Are you cold?" Taehyung asks, referring to Jungkook's chills.
Jungkook shakes his head. "It's just the flu symptoms, I guess."
Taehyung rolls his eyes. He grabs a spare scarf from his backpack, which his mother packed due to the change from cold to warmer seasons, and wrapped it around Jungkook.
"T-thanks." Jungkook says, still shivering with slightly red ears.
"No worries." Taehyung replies. "You're probably shivering 'cause of Jimin's thing." Taehyung says, referring to when Jungkook got splashed by Jimin's water bottle.
As they continued walking, they neared a wall.
Rounding the corner, Taehyung pushed Jungkook, being considerate of his wounds, out of the pathway and towards the wall.
Jungkook gasped at the sudden detour. "What are you doing? My house is that way-"
Jungkook gets cut off as Taehyung gently pushes Jungkook against the wall, caging him in like a small animal.
Taehyung leans forward, their faces in close proximity with eachother. "Ok, you're not acting normal at all these past few days."
Jungkook rolled his eyes. "Not this again."
