Today is the day.

Jungkook's dad is finaly going to get what he deserves. And he won't bother them, ever again.

A few days ago, Jungkook and Taehyung came home from tutoring after a long day in school to find Jungkook's mom crying.

When they asked what was wrong, his mother informed them happily that the trial will finally be scheduled. However, that was not only it: the lawyers also informed them that their winning of this case was likely, the evidence was so overwhelming that it was impossible for the judge not to give justice to his mother.

The two boys then informed their group about the trial schedule. Everyone promised to be there, though Jungkook insisted it wasn't necessary.

**On the trial day**

The courtroom was heavy with tension. Mrs. Jeon sat at the plaintiff's table, her hands trembling slightly. Beside her sat Jungkook, his 17-year-old shape tense but resolute. Years of fear and silence were etched on their faces, but today, they hoped for justice. They hoped for freedom.

Across the aisle, Mr. Jeon sat stone-faced, his expression betraying only a little emotion: anger. The courtroom buzzed softly as the judge prepared to deliver the verdict.

"After considering all the evidence presented in this case, including testimonies from Mrs. Jeon, Jungkook, and multiple witnesses, as well as medical reports and photographic evidence," the Judge began, her voice firm and steady, "this court finds Mr. Jeon guilty of domestic abuse and child abuse."

Mrs. Jeon let out a shaky breath, her eyes immidiately filling with tears. Jungkook reached over and gripped her hand tightly, his own eyes tearing up, too.

The Judge continued, "The court recognizes the profound impact of Mr. Jeon's actions on both his wife and his son. His repeated acts of violence constitute not only a crime but a betrayal of trust. Therefore, this court sentences Mr. Jeon to eight years in prison with no possibility of parole for five years. Additionally, full custody of Jeon Jungkook is granted to Mrs. Jeon."

Gasps could be heard from the audience in the gallery. Jungkook closed his eyes briefly, relief washing over him. The nightmare that had haunted him and his mother was finally coming to an end.

As the courtroom emptied, Mrs. Jeon and Jungkook lingered, having a quiet, tearful embrace. "We're free now," she whispered, stroking his hair like she had when he was a child. "It's over."

Jungkook nodded, his voice firm. "We'll rebuild, Mom. Together."

They walked out of the courthouse, the bright sunlight causing them to squint their eyes. They were no longer trapped in fear, they could finally start living the life they deserved.

After the trial, Jungkook decided to head back to his small house with his mother. They weren't going to stay there- not yet, of course. They were going to stay with Taehyung's family for a few more days, courtesy of Taehyung's mother, who had grown fond of them during their time together. The weight of everything, the years of abuse, the trial, and the verdict, felt overwhelming.

His friends, knowing how much he had endured, agreed to meet at his house, right after the trial, though they would come separately. They wanted to make sure he knew he wasn't alone. Especially Taehyung, who was worried about the boy constantly since his last panic episode.
