A few months passed since Jake and Rose escaped from the Dublekas. Since then, they spent time clearing their heads from the stressful life around them. They knew they both had to have clean slates before trying to face the Dublekas again. They spent time driving around different states, while still staying by Florida. They explored different places and had fun. They also called it their "possible final source of fun" if they happened to die while saving the world.

Also in that time, the Dublekas took action. They started small in their plans, killing people one by one. Even if it was only a few people they killed, it broke Jake and Rose's hearts every time a "mysterious unknown murder" was reported on the news. It made them want to stop the Dublekas even more, as justice for those few people.

Jake and Rose decided to sell their car before setting back out on their journey to Florida. They drove back to Louisiana, where they had first purchased the car, and sold it to a kind man. After that, they continued their journey on-foot along the coastline once again. The two of them decided to walk to a city in Florida and continue their game plan from there.

Strangely, they didn't talk much to each other. Most of the time, they'd just stare at each other, not noticing each other staring. Then when they found each other staring, they'd smile a little and look away while blushing. Neither one of them wanted to talk at the moment, for their heads were buried deep in their thoughts.

"I hate to admit it to myself, but I'm in love with Jake," Rose sadly thought. "He's such a great friend though, and he probably doesn't like me that way. He probably has a girlfriend waiting for him at home or something. Heck, I'd be surprised if he doesn't have one! But I can't get my hopes up too high because of that possibility. I guess I'll just have to... try and forget my feelings about him..."

"Rose is so damn beautiful," Jake thought. "I can't stop thinking about how perfect her blue eyes are or how beautiful her long, brown hair is! But she probably doesn't like me the same way. I should just ditch my crush now before it gets out of hand."

"His eyes are so mystical and dreamy," Rose thought. "A million adventures can be experienced by looking into those eyes. Ugh, face it; I have no chance with him."

"She's my amaranthine," Jake thought. "She's my never fading dream. She always will be in my thoughts, my dreams, and my heart."

"He is all I need in my life, and I believe that is true," Rose thought. "If he was the last person standing on this Earth, I'd still be happy spending life with only him."

"Like the drift of a stream, her beauty is so serene and tranquil," Jake thought. "Her beauty is like the beauty of the world. Her blue eyes are like the glimmering oceans. Her brown hair is like the astonishing mountains. When her face lights up, it's like watching a sunrise."

"There's nothing else in life I'll ever need if Jake is with me," Rose thought. "He is my dream... my amaranthine."

"There's nothing else in life I'll ever need if Rose is with me," Jake thought. "She is my dream... my amaranthine."

Jake and Rose soon caught themselves staring at each other again. They both blushed and shook off the awkward moment. Then Rose looked back and Jake, and she smiled.

"Jake... I want you to know that... you're my best friend," Rose mumbled, blush creeping onto her cheeks again. Jake looked over at her and smiled widely.

"Thanks... you're my best friend too," Jake added, smiling ear-to-ear. Rose's smile became brighter, lighting up her entire face. They just stared at each other, smiling and admiring everything about each other. They both wished that moment lasted forever.

Unfortunately, everything has to end eventually.
