Driving on a deserted road along the coastline, Jake and Rose drove as far from Florida as they could. According to a navigator, they were in New Orleans, Louisiana. They had to clear their heads again before facing the final Dubleka. It was even more critical than facing the other Dublekas, since the leader Dubleka was the strongest, wisest, and toughest. They had to be on their A game to face him, which was why they had to clear their heads.

It had been one day since they escaped the Dublekas' hideout. They didn't exactly know how much time they were going to take to clear their heads. They didn't even know where exactly they wanted to go!

"Jake, can we pull over?" Rose asked. "I need some fresh air." Jake nodded and parked the car on the side of the road. They both stepped out of the car. They breathed in the fresh air, which was slightly salty from the ocean, as they leaned against the car.

"Hey... clearing my head has kind of given me a goal for the remainder of this mission," Jake sighed.

"What's that?" Rose questioned.

"To 'renew' the world," Jake answered. "You know, clear this world from the bad." Rose shrugged.

"We'd be doing something huge by saving the human race from a giant threat, but we can't get rid of all evil in the world," Rose pointed out. "You know, pollution, wars, and all that."

"I know," Jake groaned. "But it seriously would be cool to see wars undo, the oceans be truly blue, and the heavens be painted with stars. You know what I mean?" Rose nodded.

"Like a peaceful, genuinely happy world?" Rose confirmed. Jake nodded. "That's my theory of everything. I think everything could be solved with a peaceful world." Rose paused for a minute. "We may not get rid of all evil, but we won't let this world fall apart because of these evil aliens." Jake nodded in agreement.

"And we won't let it out of our hearts, right?" Jake added. "We both promise to not give the world up and not let it fall into the hands of the leader Dubleka?" Rose nodded her head. "Good. That's our promise to the world. We can't break it, no matter what happens, got it?" Rose nodded.

"And I'll also make a promise to you... to stick with you during our fight with the leader Dubleka," Rose added. "We're partners, and partners stay by each other." Jake nodded.

"I'll make the same promise to you," Jake added. "I promise to stick with you during you the fight." He added in his thoughts, "And forever."

Jake looked up and saw the shadow of a UFO in the sky. He then saw the whole picture clearer. He saw a bomb dropping from the UFO. Jake put all of the pieces together; it was the leader Dubleka's UFO, and he was the one dropping the bomb. Jake immediately did what his gut told him to do.

He pushed Rose away from the car before the bomb landed on top of the vehicle. Then... there was a giant explosion. All he felt after was pain... lots and lots of pain. And then everything went black.

Rose screamed as an explosion erupted around her. She quickly fell to the ground with pain shooting throughout her body. She stood up as smoke and debris from the car started flying around. Debris cut into her skin as she searched for Jake. When she found him, he was unconscious and non-responsive. Even with unbearable pain and limping in both of her legs, she ran off and dragged Jake and herself to the nearest hospital.

"Help!" Rose screamed when she entered the hospital. "He's... he's unconscious!" Immediately, nurses scattered around to get a stretcher for Jake. He was placed slowly on the stretcher and was wheeled away.

Rose's surroundings started to blur as she saw a female, who looked like a nurse, walk towards her. She started backing away.

"Are you ok?" the lady asked, the words being only mumbles in Rose's ears. "You look hurt. You need help too."

"No, no I'm fine," Rose groaned, her head spinning with dizziness and confusion. "Jake... he needs help and-."

"We are helping him right now, ma'am," the lady interrupted. "But you look injured too. Someone needs to check you for severe injuries."

"No, really, I'm-," Rose started. Ringing blasted in her ears as all sounds around her were blocked out by the rings. Her vision became more blurry as she felt herself start to fall. She felt herself hit the floor, but suffered no additional pain because of how numb with pain she was. Then she saw a stretcher come near her. She tried to shake her head, but couldn't.

She saw arms of nurses lift her, and she was placed on top of the stretcher. She couldn't move, she couldn't breathe, and she could barely see or hear. She allowed herself to close her eyes as the world of darkness and silence overtook her.
