It was late at night, and you were determined to keep yourself occupied with assignments from school that weren't even due tomorrow since of the late uploads.
Calculus was your weakest subject, proved to be an increasingly difficult challenge as the years of math go on. The professor had set high expectations that forbidden any sort of assistance, with the exception of tutoring after class which made it nearly impossible to comprehend. The countless amount of YouTube videos, rewatching the lectures over and over again, did not seem to be helping you get through this class without the assistance of Eren.
Though you were reluctant to approach Eren at this hour, the thought of improving your grade was too tempting to ignore due to the fact you couldn't afford to fail.
Your eyes remained slightly swollen and red from your tear-marks that were now dried up. The dry liquid caused a subtle crackling sensation on your skin, a lingering reminder of what happened a few previous hours ago. Your legs were a bit sore and aching from the run that you had to do from hall to hall, and stair to stair. With a slight groan, you reluctantly pushed the warm blanket off your body, alongside with your computer that was on your lap. You allowed your feet to rest onto the cold flooring beneath you, before heading towards Eren for tutoring help. After a moment of resting your feet, you got up carefully and made it to your door.
As you mindfully opened your door, your eyes laid on Eren whose hand was placed on the doorknob. The unexpected sight caused you to momentarily freeze while you were caught off guard by his presence.
Catching the sight of you, Eren's expression seemed to reflect a soup of surprise, and possibly relief. He sighed slightly before opening his mouth. "Do you need anything?" He calmly asked, his hand still on the doorknob while you could feel his heavy heart beat pounding no matter how close you and his proximity was.
It always felt like you two shared the same heart, with a different mind. Though your eyes were laid onto the ground, you spoke with hesitation. "I need your help." You began to stumble out. "It's for calculus." You added, finally gathering the courage to meet his eyes. Eren's usually cold, brooding eyes seemed softer and much warmer as he looked down on you.
His dilated eyes made his gaze appear almost doe-like and vulnerable before speaking.
"Yeah, sure." Eren let out calmly before taking off his hand from the doorknob while still trying his best to avoid being too much trouble since he could notice your eye-bags as a result from the tears you wept away.
Without trying to waste any time, you retreated a few step back, silently opening the door wider and granting Eren permission to step inside your room. Eren slowly crept inside, examining the surroundings that were ahead of him. Your room was dim, but not too dark for him to not be able to see you, or notice anything that could easily be passed by as nothing important.
You made your way to your bed, and covering your body in your blanket while you opened up your computer. Eren sat on the edge of your bed as he patiently waited for you to start up the things you needed help with. Unlocking your password, you couldn't help but notice Eren's hands fidgeting against each other in an anxious manner.
His hair was slightly more messier than usual, and his rings were a bit lesser than what he usually had on. Something about him was just, odd.
Enough with the examination on Eren, you sat up straight and sat beside him with the blanket still covering every inch of your body. Eren intently looked over to your computer screen to see a complex calculus equation ahead of him.
