The university campus had been recently experienced more cooler winds than usual, the cooler seasons creeping in at an accelerating pace. You felt the wind slice through your face as you walked around campus grounds, since you had some time to spare before heading on home. It has been quite sometime seeing Eren once a week, as it has always been a ritual for the two of you. Unfortunately, your bond hasn't really been growing despite your recent efforts to improve it. You would've thought he had been laying a few glares at you, but those eyes were not on yours. But, on the bright side, your grades have been significantly improving due to his miraculous performance in tutoring you, which made you feel better about yourself, thinking this might increase your chances into befriending him.
Walking over to the coffee shop you regularly go to, with your computer bag on your shoulders to begin studying there. You swung open the door as you heard the infamous jingle from it, you laid eyes onto the cashier counter, seeing his face. Eren's.
A warm smile graced your face as you caught sight of him. "Oh, hey." You greeted him warmly, as your expression remained friendly and welcoming. "Hi." He replied back in a much more monotone as he usually spoke. You were never really bothered about it as you thought it was just how he sounded, or he was just exhausted from his job.
"Can I just have an Iced matcha, please?" You ordered as you placed your computer bag onto the table that was adjacent from the ordering counter. Eren nodded as he pulled up the plastic cup from the assortments of them. His eyes filled with a tint of confusion as he reached over to grab the sharpie, he thought to himself if he overlooked something, and in which he did.
"Is everything okay?" You questioned him as one of your eyebrow raised upwards, slightly titling your head to the side in confusion.
Eren chuckled sheepishly, the sharpie still in his hand as he raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, how do you spell your name again?" He asked as his voice was laced with slight embarrassment. Your expression couldn't help but smirk at his obvious lie. It was crystal clear that he has forgotten your name. "Really? Are you certain you didn't forget my name?" You replied in a sarcastic tone as your hands found their way to your hips, standing on your question.
Eren awkwardly chuckled apologetically, acknowledging his mistake. "Yeah, I did." He confessed as his tone was hinted of genuine remorse in his voice. "Can you remind me again?" Eren said as his eyes glistened on yours, almost like they were filled with genuine sincerity. "I promise I won't forget this time."
Your voice was laced with a mixture of amusement and mild annoyance as you replied. "Sure, it's Y/N." You said as you carefully pronounced every syllable clearly, making sure he didn't forget.
Eren replied with a slight nod as he wrote down your name quickly, and turned his back to make your drink. You smiled warmly as you sat to where your computer bag was, and zipped it to pull out your computer to begin revising things you rather missed before. Suddenly, you heard the same jingle you heard when you entered, coming from the entrance.
"Oh, hey, Y/N!" Armin said as he walked inside with his hands casually fixated in his pockets as he strolled towards to you. Your head jumped up from your computer screen to see who called out your name. "Hey, Armin." You said as a smile tugged at the corners of your lips.
"What are you working on?" Armin said as he walked behind you, sneaking his head behind yours to see your computer screen. "Psychology. I'm just revising it." You said calmly as you pointed to what you were studying on.
"Yikes, good luck on that." Armin said as he leaned his head back and walked over to the ordering counter, ready to order. His comment made you a bit worried, as if psychology is supposed to be a challenging course. But to you, it seemed pretty moderate considering it only being an elective for you.
"Order for Y/N?" Eren's voice rang out at the pickup station as he set your drink down on the counter. You followed the sound that called out your name, and picked up your drink. "Thanks!" You acknowledged as you held a smile across your face. You continued on your way to your seat, but as you glanced around the room, your gaze fell upon a bald-headed man seated just across from where you were about to sit.
"Connie?!" Your voice echoed through the space as you placed your drink on the table. Connie rested his head on his palm and looked at you with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Come to the party, tomorrow." He said as he sat completely still, not breaking any eye contact with you.
"You already know my answ-"
"If you don't go, I will chug down your matcha that you have laid on the table down my throat and make you watch the whole thing." Connie whispered as his tone gave off ominous vibes. And to add on, this wasn't the first time he threatened you like this. The first time was with ripping the pages of your favorite book, which made you cut off communication with him for over two weeks. You sighed deeply before replying back to him. "What time is it." You said as you waited for him to reply.
"7:00pm, and I'll text you the details." Connie said as tapped on your phone, Before you could even reply, Connie sprung up from his seat and sprinted out of the cafe without looking back or caring about your response. Armin twisted his head to the side as he felt a strong gust of wind pass him. "Jeez, maybe his last name should be Connie Sprinter.." He mumbled as he handed Eren a few dollars to pay up for his order.
