Chelsea had me laughing nonstop like old times.

"Girl, yuh mawga last month. How yuh get big like pig suh?!" I leaned back, wiping tears from my eyes.

"Mi just a' eat good food girl," she shot back, giggling.

"If mi never know better, mi woulda say you a breed," I said, watching her a little too hard.

Her face looked fuller. Breathing a little sharp. But maybe that's just the nurse in me.

Her smile dropped.

"Mi look like mi a breed?" she sprang up from the sofa, twisting to check her stomach in her walk mirror.

I laughed.

"Girl, mi just bloated. Who fi breed me?" she said, glancing over her shoulder, smiling gingerly.

I just smiled.

She slumped down beside me in the sofa, then got quiet. "Rose can breed people?"

I slapped her arms as a loud laugh left my body. She grabbed me, and we both burst out, still cracking up.

"No Dimples," I shook my head, still in between breaths. "A rose cannot breed yuh."

"Well mi cya' deh breed then. Mi only see Kyle twice a year."

"Unless—" she cuts me off, not allowing me to speak, pushing me as she spoke.

"So girlllllllllll wah a gwaan fi you?! Make we talk bout you now. Weh yuh voice deh?!"

"The owner tek it I guess," I shrugged.

She's laughing, but something seemed...

I got distracted.

My phone lit up on my leg. I looked down. It's Djimon.

I kissed my teeth and tossed the phone in my bag. "Weh him a call mi phone fa?"

I pulled back but my eyes caught the notifications.
