Haven

My heart is in my throat beating at a million miles an hour. Gerard and I look like deer caught in headlights, thoroughly petrified by the thunderous expression in my older brother's face. I barely even register his girlfriend hiding behind his body. Johnny's chest heaved up and down with barely contained anger. His jaw tenses up as well as his knuckles. Right about now he looks ready to commit murder.Air reaches my lungs in desperate pants, my body itching to shake and for the first time ever I feel scared of johnny.

"Johnny wait this isn't what it looks like" I rush out, my voice coming out stuttered. I try to take a step closer to my brother but the look on his face, packed with betrayal and hot red rage, makes me jump back.

"Isn't what it looks like? I think this is exactly what it fucking looks like! I think you're pretty fucking stupid if you expect me to believe that bullshit!" His voice is stern and loud, cutting through the silent night "How long has this been going on?" He stares directly at me, willing me to speak again. His body language makes me question if he thinks this was all my fault.

"Johnny, lad, calm down" Gerard tries to interfere, placing a hand on his best friend's chest and standing between us. Johnny shoves him back clearly, not happy at his blonde friend's actions.

"Don't tell me to calm down" He roared "You're my best friend. My best friend. And you've been sneaking around hooking up with my little sister?"

Gerard looks defeated and almost ashamed that Johnny caught on to us. "Johnny it's not like that really, please calm down. We didn't mean for this to happen" I try to reason

"Oh so it just magically happened Haven, hm?" He laughed bitterly "How long have you been sneaking around and don't you dare lie to me"

Gerard looks down at the ground, guilt written in every single one of his handsome factions "A few months"
Johnny laughed bitterly again "A few months? And when were you planning on saying some of the most important people in my life decided to run around behind my back together?" He ran a hand through his wet hair and shook his head, looking at both of us with a look that could only be characterized as disappointment "You knew this would ruin everything right? You knew it and you did it anyway. Were you planning on lying forever? Were you so stupid you didn't I would find out?"

Tears streamed down my face surly smudging and taking any sort of light makeup I had put on earlier "We didn't want to hurt you Johnny, that's why we didn't say anything" I croaked out

"Well congratulations because ya fucking did" He deapanned, looking straight into my soul and then turning to his best friend "Out of everyone, Gibs, I never expected you would do this. You're my best friend. You're supposed to have my back, not stab me"

"I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do Kav, I love her" He whispered which only made me cry harder. His voice was steady but filled with regret. Out of the corner of my teary eyes I caught a glimpse of Shan rubbing Johnny's back, seemingly attempting to calm him but obviously not working.

"You love her?" Johnny hissed, shaking his head "That doesn't make it right. And you know what? You made your choice and so have I"

Gerard's face dropped and then I knew I had broken everything. "W-what do you mean Johnny" I sobbed

"It means you can have him Haven, but don't expect me to have him too" He looked between the two of us, his eyes solid "Congratulations to both of you on ruining our relationships. Don't ever fucking hope to fix them" He turns to Shan and with a gentle grip but sill stong voice, he holds her hand "Lets go Shan"
