Breakfast in the apartment Matt now only shared with Ryan was rather quiet, not because they were mad at each other or anything. They were just sleepy and Ryan's brain didn't work in the morning without coffee. The long haired girl downed the last quarter of her cup of coffee and took both her empty but dirty plate and the coffee stained mug to the sink.

"Got a lot to do today?" She asked her boyfriend.

"Not really, maybe I'll finish watching The Bear without you so you don't drool over Carmy" The blue eyed man said.

"Don't you dare!" Ryan exclaimed while in the bathroom putting her contacts on.

A while later, she grabbed her bag from Matt's room and went back into the kitchen. Setting her glasses on the bench, she spoke.

"I'm coming in late today, could you take Spot and Jax out on a walk? I'll make it up for you tomorrow, I know you've been walking them for two weeks now" She asked her boyfriend, fixing the strap of her backpack on her left shoulder.

"No, Ry" he let out in a sad tone "I have a show tonight, you knew that and you said you'd go" He told her with sad eyes.

"Right" She let out "I completely forgot, I don't even know what day I'm living in. I already told the Capitan I'd cover for Danny tonight" She told him "I'm so sorry, bubba...I haven't gone to one of your shows in ages" She pouted at him.

"The last fifteen shows, actually" Matt nodded softly, hugging her back as Ryan wrapped her arms around his waist.

"Really?" She asked wide eyed as she broke the hug gently.

"Yeah but, you know, who's keeping count" Matt shrugged "And I'm totally not gonna hang this over your head in like ten years" He smiled at her.

"I feel like a piece of shit" Ryan sighed, looking at the floor as she put her next sentence together in her brain "Tell you what.." She looked up at Matt.

"Tell me what" The brunette nodded at her.

"What" She joked along with him "No, seriously. I'm..definitely not gonna make it to your show, and you know I don't like just watching the last fifteen minutes. I need the whole Matt Rife experience. So, if you're not too tired when you get back I'll make up for my last fifteen fuck ups" She told him with a small clap.

"You'll make up for it?" He furrowed his eyebrows at her "How?" He asked in a moment of stupidity.

Ryan blinked at Matt a few times with her hands held out in front of her chest, tilting her head forward she looked at him with a smile growing onto her face.

"Oh-" Matt let out "Ohh..." He sounded, blushing intensely "I can come back here a little earlier than usual" He told Ryan "I don't need to go to the after, it's not like it's my last time ever hanging out with Alex, Mike and Elton" He shrugged at his girlfriend.

"Good, see you tonight then" She said, cupping the back of his neck to kiss him softly "Love you, pookie" She used the pet name she knew Matt hated, walked out the door and downstairs heading down to the beach.

Ryan's P.O.V

The day at work was oddly calm and consequently boring. I had something to look forward to, something vane, ephemeral and merely physical but still it was quality time with my boyfriend. Spreading sunscreen on my left shoulder, I walked out into the deck in my swimsuit and with my cap on. Nothing was going on.

Inside the life house sat Danny and Mila, talking about the most random topic they could've picked: The Menendez brothers. I walked in breifly to check the time on my phone, being met with it being dead.
