Police station, inside the office. Ning Cheng is meeting with Director Zhang Chao to discuss his contributions. Suddenly, a system prompt sounds in his mind. He glances at the system panel.

Ning Cheng is momentarily stunned. The reward of a Patek Philippe Star Watch, while impressive, doesn't particularly excite him; his stock market earnings easily cover such a purchase. What truly surprises him are the other system rewards.

These include a significant upgrade to his marksmanship. While he'd practiced outside the police academy, his accuracy was average. Now, he possesses world-class marksmanship—a powerful and potentially life-saving skill, especially given the inherent dangers of his profession.

Another reward is equally practical: a "1-hour tracking view map," a skill akin to an in-game map displaying and tracking an enemy's position for up to an hour. Ning Cheng is highly pleased.

"Ning Cheng, this wasn't a true 'scalpel demon' case, but your work was outstanding," Director Zhang Chao says, clapping Ning Cheng on the shoulder. "The Municipal Bureau is very impressed. Your contributions won't be forgotten."

"Thank you, Director Zhang. I simply fulfilled my duties; my colleagues also contributed significantly," Ning Cheng replies.

"Of course, and I'll ensure you receive full credit," Zhang Chao smiles. "Also, about the sibutramine case—would you like to hear the results?"

Ning Cheng recalls City Bureau Director Wang's promise of a first-class merit award and promotion. "Absolutely," he says.

Zhang Chao announces: "The sibutramine case had a major impact, even appearing on national television. Your application for first-class merit is approved, and you're promoted from First-Level Police Officer to Second-Level Police Inspector!"

Even though Ning Cheng isn't overly focused on fame or fortune, this professional honor—a recognition and reward for his efforts—fills him with excitement.

"Ning Cheng, you've heard the saying: 'Third-class leaders stand, second-class leaders limp, and first-class leaders lie down'," Zhang Chao says, chuckling. "To achieve first-class merit at your age—you're the first I've ever seen!" He adds, "Don't let this go to your head. Keep working hard!"

Zhou Ziyan and Mu Xiaoyu, observing from the office, openly express their envy. Even Zhou Ziyan, a highly successful officer, hadn't received a first-class merit. Ning Cheng's achievement, given his youth and short tenure, highlights his exceptional talent. The City Bureau's decision reflects not only the sibutramine case but also Ning Cheng's success in multiple high-profile cases. His merit is a testament to his skill, dedication, and bravery.

Leaving the office, Ning Cheng is met with a mixture of admiration and envy from his colleagues. The first-class merit—a rare and prestigious achievement—is solely his. The saying, "Third-class leaders stand, second-class limp, and first-class lie down," underscores the difficulty of obtaining such an award. Yet Ning Cheng achieved it, unscathed.

The police department grants Ning Cheng, Mu Xiaoyu, and others a week's vacation to rest and prepare for the upcoming "scalpel demon" case. Instead of resting, Ning Cheng heads to the Jiangcheng International Design Shooting Range to practice his already world-class marksmanship. The satisfaction of a perfect shot is undeniable. Even seasoned professionals are astounded by his skill.

After his vacation, Ning Cheng returns to work. While having lunch in the police cafeteria, he's unexpectedly visited by Ye Wanzhou. He remembers owing her a meal for her assistance in the Chen Yang case.

"Officer Ning, you know why I'm here?" Ye Wanzhou asks, her eyes fixed on him.

"My apologies, I completely forgot! Let me treat you to dinner today. Your clues were invaluable in solving the case," Ning Cheng says.

"It seems my role wasn't insignificant," Ye Wanzhou smiles. "Since you're so sincere, I'll forgive you. Let's have dinner!"

They decide on a steakhouse, but traffic delays their journey.

"Stuck in traffic again!" Ye Wanzhou sighs. "If I had your driving skills..."

Before she finishes, Ning Cheng spots an oncoming car and swerves to avoid a collision.

A loud crash. Ye Wanzhou's car is hit by a white Bentley. A man and a woman emerge, assessing the damage to their car. The woman, heavily made up, immediately becomes enraged.

"You're blind! You didn't see the green light, and there's a traffic jam!" she shouts. "You're paying for this!"

"Compensation?" Ye Wanzhou retorts. "I was parked properly, and you tried to overtake me. You should apologize!"

The woman, angered by Ye Wanzhou's beauty, insults her car.

"It's just a cheap BMW! Don't think your looks exempt you from paying!"

Ye Wanzhou is furious at the woman's audacity. Ning Cheng intervenes.

"No need to argue with her. It's a waste of time; let's report this to the traffic police," he says.

The woman is about to retort, but the man beside her notices Ning Cheng's watch and hesitates.
