Ning Cheng slowly entered the bank, facing four or five armed robbers who glared at him menacingly. Any wrong move could be fatal. He also saw about twenty terrified hostages – businessmen, elderly people, couples, and bank employees – who looked to him with hopeful eyes. As a police officer, he represented their only chance of survival.

"Look at what? If you want to save the hostages, agree to our conditions!" a burly robber shouted.

"I'll consider your conditions, but only if you guarantee you'll keep your word," Ning Cheng replied, his eyes subtly assessing the bank's layout. Intelligence suggested more than ten robbers were inside.

Indeed, Police Chief Li Gang's team discovered more robbers at the back door and Liu Hailong himself on the second floor.

"Liu Hailong's divided his men, guarding key areas while he remotely commands," Ning Cheng mused, admiring the criminal's strategic thinking. Subduing them required simultaneous control of all groups to prevent hostage endangerment and retaliatory attacks.

Ning Cheng's eyes flickered, accessing a system map showing the robbers' locations. They were exposed! Excluding one killed during the initial police raid, fifteen robbers were divided into four groups: five at the front entrance, four at the back door, four on the rooftop, and three (including Liu Hailong) on the second floor.

"There's only one way," Ning Cheng concluded. Overpower all four groups simultaneously. The key was neutralizing the five robbers guarding the hostages at the main entrance first.

"What are you looking at?" a thin robber snapped.

"Nothing. Our negotiators are here. Show some sincerity," Ning Cheng said calmly. "Your boss is Liu Hailong. Why hide it? Your strategy – dividing your forces to control the bank – is almost impenetrable, but I've seen through it. Send someone with authority to talk to me."

The hostages stared, amazed by his boldness.

The robbers were taken aback, then furious. Ning Cheng's confidence was unsettling.

Just then, Huang Mao's walkie-talkie crackled.

...

"Impressive, officer. You saw through my plan," Liu Hailong's voice boomed.

"Ning Cheng," he introduced himself. "Are you Liu Hailong?"

"Yes. I have full authority," Liu Hailong replied, instructing Huang Mao to give the walkie-talkie to Ning Cheng. "I want to talk."

"I can control my gang. Can you control the entire police force outside?" Liu Hailong challenged. "You look like cannon fodder."

"It doesn't matter. All that matters is whether I can meet your conditions," Ning Cheng retorted, subtly tapping his watch – a signal to Li Gang to initiate the plan.

The plan was risky: simultaneous attacks on the back door, rooftop, and main entrance, followed by Liu Hailong's command center. The main entrance, with its five robbers and hostages, was the critical point. Success hinged on Ning Cheng neutralizing those five robbers first. Failure would lead to a bloodbath.
