Jiangcheng Bank. The first-floor reception hall: all doors locked. The atmosphere was thick with tension and fear.

"Dafeng, how's the money?" a robber hissed. "Hurry up, or the police will surround us."

"These people are troublesome and timid. That girl... I want to vent," another grumbled.

Five robbers guarded the entrance, muttering their discontent. One, pistol in hand, leered at an attractive woman.

She flinched, terrified.

"Little girl, hiding? I've got my eye on you. Impatient?" The lean robber approached, a predatory smile on his face.

The woman, petrified, clung to her boyfriend. He shielded her, but was brutally beaten.

Screams of pain echoed. The hostages averted their gaze, unable to bear witness.

"Stop! Please! Do anything you want!" the woman cried, kneeling, begging for mercy.

"That's more like it," the robber sneered.

"Dafeng, hurry up! We've been hiding long enough," another robber urged.

"Relax, Xingle. Women are replaceable. I'll take care of you later!" Sun Feng, the robber, grabbed the woman, dragging her aside.

The hostages—elderly people, young couples, wealthy businessmen—closed their eyes, their bodies trembling. They couldn't bear to watch.

"Beast!" the beaten young man seethed, his eyes blazing with fury. But he was immediately pummeled into silence.

"Stop! I'll do anything!" the woman whispered, her heart filled with despair.

"Good girl. Behave, and I'll let your boyfriend go," Sun Feng said, stroking her face.

Just as he was about to assault her, a gun pressed against his forehead.

"Boss? What's wrong?" Sun Feng looked up, startled.

"If you want to die, I'll help you. Don't drag me down!" Liu Hailong, the gang leader, snarled.

Liu Hailong, unremarkable in appearance, exuded an intimidating aura.

"The police are outside! We need to get the money and get out! You dare to cause trouble, I'll shoot you!"

The police were surrounding the bank? Sun Feng felt a chill. The hostages' eyes flickered with hope. For the robbers, it was a death sentence; for the hostages, a lifeline. In their darkest hour, hope arrived.

The robbers' faces paled.

"Boss, what do we do?" they asked, looking to Liu Hailong for guidance.

Liu Hailong remained calm. "Doesn't matter. Get the money, then implement Plan B."

"Plan B?" Sun Feng asked.

"Plan B is our survival plan. It's how we deal with the police."

Liu Hailong quickly assigned tasks. He distributed walkie-talkies.

"Seen this in the movies?" he asked.

"Boss, you're prepared!" Sun Feng exclaimed.

"That's why I'm the boss," a young robber scoffed.

Liu Hailong silenced them. "No infighting! Anyone disobeys, I'll kill them. We get the money and leave! We're all desperate. We either succeed or die. If the police break in, we're all dead!"

The robbers fell silent, understanding his words. They were all wanted criminals, with no way back.

"We understand, boss," Sun Feng said. "Where are you?"

"Fifth floor. I'll direct operations from there. The police aren't pushovers. We'll clash. We need to conserve our strength to negotiate and escape...I'm your only hope. If I'm caught, you're all dead. If I live, I might be able to trade you for the hostages."

The robbers nodded, understanding their fate.

The robbers quickly took their positions, preparing for the inevitable confrontation.

Back on the first floor, the hostages felt a renewed sense of despair. Liu Hailong's plan was clearly well-thought-out, making a rescue extremely difficult and dangerous.

Ning Cheng arrived at Jiangcheng Bank, where Zhou Ziyan waited.

"What's going on?" Ning Cheng asked.

"It's complicated. This is one of the largest bank robberies in recent history. We estimate sixteen robbers, desperate criminals who value money over life."

Ye Wanzhou, standing behind Ning Cheng, gasped. Sixteen robbers was unheard of in today's climate.

Ning Cheng's face was grim. This was unlike anything he'd encountered before. Rescuing the hostages would be extremely difficult and risky.

"How many hostages?" Ning Cheng asked.

"At least thirty."

Ning Cheng took a deep breath. More than a dozen criminals, thirty hostages. The odds were stacked against them. The rescue would be perilous, with the potential for casualties on both sides.
