I sat in the backseat of Alaric's car with my arms crossed, I was turfed in the back with Elena because Damon didn't respect the rules of Shot gun. "Stop pouting, it'll give you wrinkles" Damon smirked, he'd turned his whole body around so he could look at me.

I stopped and just glared a him "it'll be pretty hard to get wrinkles when I don't age" I leaned my back against my door and sighed deeply, my pouting never lasted long, I just didn't have it in me to continue with that type of emotion.

"Who turned you?" Damon asked, at this point I wasn't surprised that he was asking that question, it was the same one he'd been asking since we reconnected in the 70's, before then he thought I was dead, my answer had never changed and never will change. I didn't know who turned me but damn was I happy that they did.

"I don't know Damon but I'll throw them a party when I find out" I shrugged and looked at Elena, who was coming out of her house with Stefan and an overnight bag "I just hope it wasn't Katherine, I'll stake that bitch when I have the chance" Damon nodded absently, when we were human he had loved her blindly, she'd faked her own death and it had broken him, or so I was told. He now had only hatred towards her, unlike me she hadn't killed him she did something worse, she used his feelings towards her to do whatever she wanted.

"See ya Stef" I murmured, I forgot what it was like to be around my brothers, for a moment I forgot that I had one of the oldest and deadliest vampires after me.

~~~ Klaus' POV ~~~
I picked my way through the blackened apartment that Alexandra had once dwelled in and growled, she'd escaped me once again and this time I didn't have a spy, no this time I had killed my spy to send a message, to let her know I was never going to stop.
Kicking the discarded bed frame and I sighed in frustration when the bed fell fell to pieces, there were bits of her belongings that she had left behind in her haste still strewn around the charcoaled room, I waded through the debris and curiously looked at the small safe that was hidden in the shell of the closet. Dusting off the ashes, I smashed open the lock and smiled slightly when I saw pictures of Alexandra and myself, shockingly the things in the safe were untouched by the fire.
"Oh Alex" I mumbled as I stroked her picture, "why did you leave me?" I questioned the pictures as I scanned the letters she had also put in the box, all of them addressed to me, all of them obviously unsent.
'My dearest Nik, I miss you with all my heart and even though we are worlds apart I still believe we could be together. This is no one else for me, no one but you' her elegant hand writing scrawled across the yellowed pages, 'one day my love we will be together again, one day I will tell you the real reason I had to leave your side, but until that day I will only hope that you won't keep your word and kill me. You are my world and I love you more then anything' under the last sentence her name was signed in a mad swirl. Tears burned my eyes and I angrily blinked them away, she'd been the only one to get this reaction, no one not even my brother could make me cry.
~Flashback 1993~
Klaus watched in quiet amusement as Alex danced with a human, he would try to kiss her neck while they were danced close but every time he would lean forward she would pull away and shake her head, she finally pulled away from the man and made her way back into Klaus' waiting arms.
"I forgot how clingy humans actually were" she sighed into his ear causing him to laugh, the music could have drowned her out had he been human and his hearing wasn't as acute as it was.
"Were you that clingy?" He asked her with a chuckle causing her to look up at him with narrowed icy blue eyes, he hadn't known her as a human, only as the surly young vampire that wasn't afraid to go toe to toe with older vampires to get what she wanted.
"No" she said angrily before she stopped and thought about it for a moment, he knew she had been engaged when she was human so she was clearly thinking back to that time "at least I hope I wasn't" she leaned up and kissed his lips gently.
Klaus was going to respond to her sweetness when someone tapped his shoulder as Klaus pressed her against the bar, "may I have this dance?" A males voice came from behind them, when they ignored him and kept kissing the other male spun her out of Klaus' arms and pulled her rather roughly onto the crowded dance floor.
Klaus shook his head but didn't fight her battle, she'd never forgiven him the last time he stepped in when a human had gotten too handsy, his eyes met hers and he chuckled when she rolled her eyes at what the human was saying to her "why are you with the art geek?" Klaus could see that the man had her in a vice like grip "you could be with me a real man" his arms tightened around her and his hands moved to her ass.
"Let go of me" she growled out as she tried to force him off of her using a minimal amount of strength, Klaus had taught her that in public to act as human as possible because there were enemies everywhere so acting human would save her life.
"Oh come on baby, I could show you what a real man could do" he moved on of his hands to the front of her tight leather pants and tired to push his hand down into the material.
Alex shot Klaus a look as if to say 'help' but he was already walking towards the two, he'd had enough of of the guys attitude, he grabbed the mans hand and crushed it in his "I do believe the lady told you to leave her alone" he pushed the man away which caused him to slam into another person Klaus didn't bother looking at him, his eyes were only going to be attached to one person, and it was the icy eyed beauty in front of him.
"Can we go?" She asked with a rasp and she sighed when Klaus pulled her out of the crowded hall that had now started to brawl one another, the chaos behind them they took off running at vampire speed to their apartment.
"I have to check my messages" she mumbled to him and kissed his lips gently, she picked up the phone and listened intently as Klaus went over to his unfinished painting and picked up the brush he'd left abandoned.
"Anything interesting, love?" He asked as he added more colour to the canvas that was mostly finished.
"I have to leave" she mumbled almost to no one and of Klaus hadn't been alive for a thousand years he probably wouldn't have heard her.
~Flashback End~
I got into my car and slammed my hands on the steering wheel in anger, it hadn't been that long since she last said goodbye and walked out of my life so I was still hurting. You don't spend a good part of a hundred years and then just pack up and leave like that.
My phone rang from the inside of my cargo pants, I pulled it out and answered it "what do you have?" I asked one of my many spies I had working for me, sure they couldn't get as close to Alexandra as the one I'd killed but they'd do in a pinch especially when the price for failing me was death.
"She gone completely out of our sight" the panicked voice came through of a human that called himself Mace, his name meant nothing to me, this was the first time he'd spoken to me directly and it was showing in his voice.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CANT GET EYES ON HER!" I shouted not caring about the people who were milling around outside of her apartment me, they'd heard me obviously but the New Yorkers did nothing but blink and go back to their business.
"She's gone completely off our radars, no one can find her" the voice squeaked out as horns blasted somewhere in the background of the call, my anger rose to a whole new level.
"I want you to find her, I don't care how many people it takes, I want her in contact by the end of the month and if she isn't you will be gutted" I hung up on him and threw my phone across the car so it would land on the passenger seat, I needed to find her and it needed to be now.
