Chapter 30

Damon, Stefan, Elena and I, all sat in the library of the boarding house, we were discussing the Witch massacre site Damon had found in Jonathan Gilbert's journal, as it turns out Damon knew where it had occurred but he just didn't know it at the time, the conversation changed to the appearance of Isobel, who had turned up on Elena's doorstep last night and decided to mess with Jenna, who was now not talking to anyone.

"Do you really think that Isobel's telling the truth that word has gotten out about the Doppelgänger?" Elena asked from her seat on the 3 seater leather couch, she'd pulled her legs up onto the seat and was resting her chin on her knees, Stefan had taken a seat on the large foot rest at the end of one of the arm chair while Damon had stolen the other, his legs were draped over the arms, I was too jazzed up to sit so I was pacing the carpet.

Damon had divulged this morning that Bonnie had her powers back and they had gotten all of the spell books, the now dead Luca and Jonas had collected over the years, those books and the spell that Bonnie would need were now in the young witches hands and she was studying the spell with Elena's younger brother, before he had died is a broken neck, Jonas Martian had not only given her powers back but also sent her a witchy message with instructions on how to harness the 100 dead witches powers.

"Look I don't trust a word she says, but I think we'd be stupid to ignore the warning" Stefan spoke up, the subject was now on Isobel and wether or not we should trust her to help keep Elena safe. I was with Stefan, the doppelgängers bitch mother couldn't be trusted, but then again no one really could be.

"What do you think, Alex?" Damon asked as I shuffled my feet, all eyes in the room were on me and I decided to feed my brothers some more information about my relationship with Klaus, they'd know the truth eventually.

"If Klaus knows the doppelgänger is alive, he'd call me to confirm and make contact with said doppelgänger, he'd want to rub it in my face that another one existed because I didn't believe that one could after Katherine" I glanced at Elena who was looking fearful, "right now he's on a wild goose chase looking for Katherine so he shouldn't be contacting me anytime soon"

"You know, you should just stay here, it's better for us to keep an eye on you" Damon said, his eyes on Elena, he was the picture of comfort, his hands tucked behind his head, his usual smirk on his face. Made me want to punch him.

"What? In a house where any vampire can enter?" I asked him with a laugh, sometimes my brother made me question wether or not he has a brain inside his skull or if its just an empty space.

"NO, her house is safer," Stefan said as he sat forward in his chair a little bit more, his fingers interlaced and he looked ready to pounce on anyone who tired to make a move.

"Well, then we'll stay there" Damon suggested with an eye roll making Stefan shrug, our younger brother obviously not comfortable with Damon being in her house for any period of time.

"So is that the plan? None of you will let me out of your sight again?" Elena asked the three of us, she was getting snarky and I could see why, I would be pissed too if I was forced to have babysitters for the foreseeable future.

"Let us know when you come up with a better one" I said with a laugh, Elena rolled her head back and met my eyes and rolled her to show me how she felt about my comments.

"Fine, then one of you 3 bodyguards is gonna have to come with me to the Lockwood luncheon" she looked between me, Stefan and Damon expectantly, I knew Damon wasn't going to go with her, he hated those things as much as I did.

"That'd be me and Alex," Stefan mumbled which caused me to sigh deeply, I hated being roped into this stuff but if the other choice was going with Damon and the Bennet witch then I'd choose the luncheon.
