*FlashBack 1865*

Alexandra span around in her brand new white dress that Rebekah had brought home from one of her shopping expeditions and she grinned from ear to ear when Bekah clapped from behind her, the other woman's reflection returned Alexandra's smile, wholeheartedly. Since Alexandra had awoken a vampire Rebekah had become attached to her much like her two older brothers, she came to think of Alexandra as a sister and in many ways she was, the two women shared everything, their secrets, their fears, their dreams and for the first time in a thousand years Rebekah had found someone to call her friend and not have Niklaus kill them the next day for no reason, no even Klaus, the hot head of the family, had found a fondness for Alexandra Salvatore, not that he'd let it be known.

"You look absolutely darling" Rebekah smiled and moved forward to smooth out the wrinkles that had gathered around Alexandra's waist, "don't worry sister, you look gorgeous" Bekah grabbed Alexandra's hand and dragged the reluctant woman out of the bedroom that she had occupied since she had woken a vampire.

"Oh Bekah it's too much," Alex spoke softly pulling her friend to a stop, she went to make a move to go back to her room and change her outfit to something less glamorous but was stopped by Rebekah.

"Nonsense" Rebekah said with a laugh "I'll ask Elijah to get you a daylight ring so you can come into town with me the next time I go" the blonde tucked an escaped strand of raven black hair behind Alexandra's ear and smiled again, easing the tension building in Alexandra's form, she did miss the sun and did miss seeing the sky, but she'd never asked once for a daylight ring, they were generous enough to let her stay with them and to teach her control over her urges "now let's go into the dinning room before Niklaus comes looking for us" Rebekah resumed her tugging down the hallway.

"What took you so long?" Klaus asked grumpily making Alex look at him with wide eyes, she knew that he got extremely violent when he was angry so she quickly and quietly went to her seat, that he'd pulled out for her, not wanting to face his wrath like she had a few times before, while Niklaus had never struck her or anything of the sort when she'd staggered into the Mikaelson household after binging heavily on blood and alcohol, he'd even followed her sometimes to see what and where she went, he'd found her drinking from many pale imitations of Katherine but at the time had assumed the women were her type of snack, after that he'd never questioned her and when Elijah had tried to bring up the subject of it Niklaus had said 'she's processing her lose of life and family, let her indulge'

"Well brother," Rebekah huffed in reply as she took Elijah's arm "women like us have to keep up our appearances, if we didn't you wouldn't paint Alexandra so often" Rebekah smiled when Klaus blushed and Alexandra ducked her head and looked away "well Elijah and I are going out to a gala, you two stay here and keep each other company" Rebekah met Alexandra's startled eyes and winked before leaving the house with Elijah who was smiling slightly.

"May I say Alexandra, you look rather beautiful this evening" Klaus smiled at her as the servants brought out their dinner on the fine china that Rebekah adored so much, when the servants left the room after accepting Alexandra's quiet 'thank you' when one of them had placed her plate in front of her, Klaus raised his glass "to a beauty that knows no bounds" he said charmingly making Alexandra blush brightly.

"To my handsome host" she mumbled back, taking a sip of the blood that had been poured into the wine glass in front of her, there was no doubt that was when Alexandra had fallen for Klaus but he'd fallen for her long before that night, in fact he'd fallen for her the day she'd awoken in his care and as a vampire.

*Flashback End*

After draining the blood bags Elena had brought upstairs I sat cross-legged on the Prussian rug in the parlour and had listened to Rose tell my brothers and Elena about 'big bad Klaus' after which Stefan and Elena had left for school and Damon had gone to have a shower, so that left Rose and I to stare awkwardly at each other in silence.

"So..." I began as I stared at the discoloured patch of carpet where Damon had killed Alaric for the first time, it was before they had become friends, or so that's what Ric had told me, Damon said that they were friends before that but nobody would believe that for a second.

"I won't tell them" she grumbled at me, her posture had changed slightly from nice to angry "your brothers will find out that you work for Klaus and that you were close to Elijah, I won't tell them but as far as I'm concerned you're the enemy" fury shot through me, like it always did when someone said I was Klaus' lackey,  and I stood in a flash and glared menacingly at her.

"I don't work for Klaus, I work with him" I glared harder at her but she didn't move under my stare, I really needed to work on it obviously, and I spoke quietly "I appreciate you not spilling but I'm not the bad guy, if I wanted I could've told Elijah to kill you, or even my brothers, hell I had the chance multiple times in that mansion but I didn't" in a second I had her pinned to the couch by her throat and she choked slightly when I squeezed her neck "I'm here to help my brothers not Klaus, if I was, Elena would be in his hands not my brothers" I let go of her throat and growled as I passed Damon who had just gotten out of the shower.

"Where are you going?" He asked me as I gathered my coat and car keys, his hair was still wet and he still had a towel wrapped around his waist, he'd obviously not heard a word we'd said to one another, he'd only listen in if it was getting loud but Rose and I had kept our discussion to low whispers.

"Out" I mumbled as I opened the front door "text me when she leaves" I saluted him over my shoulder and closed the door behind me, I needed to think, to clear my head, I knew Rose wouldn't say anything mainly because she seemed like the kind of vampire that wouldn't cause trouble if she could help it but if she did mention something I would have to get my story straight. There was only one place I could think of that I could get myself out of my own head.... It was in Klaus' company.
