I got out of my third stolen car in 2 days, I took my sweet time making my way to our meeting point taking in as much as I could, and slammed the door closed, I ignored the stares I got from the people outside and around the café, I slammed the door hard enough to almost shatter the window but it was my signal to Klaus that I was here.
I made my way to the deepest, darkest corner of the shop and sat down across from the blond male that was already sitting there, he eyed me with amusement as he took in my tense frame "glad you could make it" Klaus' British accent was like smooth honey it could set your teeth on edge or it could make you turn into goo.
"If I didn't you would've come and found me" I ordered a hot coffee and then stared at Klaus as he watched me, my every movement was catalogued into his mind.
"You're still wearing my ring" he looked down at one of my ring fingers where his moonstone ring sat marking me forever as his, the ring he gave me a decade after we'd met.
"Of course" I smiled back tightly and concentrated on breathing evenly, it was hard to relax when I knew someone was vowing to kill me horribly.
"I'm surprised that you're still wearing it, after what happened and all" he chuckled to himself and raised an eyebrow when I didn't chuckle as well, Klaus liked to draw his torture out when he got bored and right now he was killing me with suspense.
"Are you going to kill me?" I asked as my coffee was placed down in front of me, I glanced at the waitress and when she didn't blink it proved that he'd compelled her and probably everyone in the shop.
"Not yet" he smiled and touched my hand causing me to tense up farther and shiver involuntarily, I always had that reaction whenever he touched me, I knew what his hands were capable of.
"Why?" I asked as his hand moved closer and closer to my neck, one touch, that's all it would take, just one touch and I would be his again and the bastard knew this because the smirk he was wearing was growing larger and larger when I didn't move away.
"Because I enjoy your company" his fingers trailed up my neck to my lips and he trailed them over the red painted surface "I know you enjoy mine as well" he smirked harder when I swallowed hard.
I moved closer to him on instinct, to feel this heat of his skin, unlike normal vampires Klaus' temperature was hotter so his finger tips scorched my skin when he touched me "Klaus" I breathed out as he leaned toward me and kissed my cheek "please" his lips moved to mine and he ran his tongue along my bottom lip.
He smiled against my lips "Alex" he pulled me closer but didn't kiss me again "why did you leave?"
I pulled back like he'd struck me and stared t him in horror, I couldn't tell him the truth, Elijah would kill me if I even uttered what went down back then, "I just needed some space" I moved away from him to emphasise my point.
"I'm not sure I believe you but I'll leave it be, for now" he smiled at me and took a sip of his coffee, he didn't move away from me, in fact it felt like he was even closer then ever "the reason why I called you here is because I've been hearing whispers that Katrina is still alive" he watched my face carefully and smirked when my eyes narrowed and I bared my teeth.
"Who told you that?" I said through my gritted teeth, my hatred for Katherine had only intensified with my vampirism, while I was human I had wanted to be friends with her because I'd had felt bad her, the story she had woven during the stay at my family's estate in Mystic Falls was a tragic one, I'd felt like we could be friends until I saw what she was starting to do to my brothers and then when I'd thought they'd been killed I blamed Katherine, I knew it was my father who had pulled the trigger of the gun that had taken my brothers lives but Katherine was the one who put them in harms way. My hatred was something that bubbled in the center of my chest whenever I thought of how she'd ruined my family and our happiness.
"It doesn't matter" he chuckled when i gritted my teeth harder, if I were human I'm sure my teeth with crack under the pressure "I take it your dislike for her still has some semblance" I gripped the table with both hands and almost broke the thin table in two.
"You know the deal," I said looking at him dead in the eye, my anger was at a boiling point and he know exactly how to make it boil over "our feelings as humans double when we're turned" I glared back a the tabletop "I'll kill her before you can" I then stood up and turned to walk away.
"We could work together on this" I turned back to look at him with disbelieving eyes, "I'll get what I want out of her and you can kill her" he smiled at me until I quietly sat back down, he raised his coffee mug to his smug lips "do we have an accord?" He asked before taking a sip.
"Fine" I grumbled, gulping down the rest of my by now lukewarm coffee "I'll work with you" he smiled sweetly at me as he drained the last of his coffee and placed the cup down onto the table.
Uneasy alliance it is then.
