Chapter 10

"It's been a while Alexandra" Elijah mumbled, he let go of Elena and without a second of hesitation, he walked towards me and kissed my cheek.

"So it has, what has it been? 15 years or so?" I asked him, last we'd spoken was when I first went on the run from Klaus, we'd met at one of the many safe houses the family had and we both disappeared.

"Yes" he said politely with a smile, while we had promised to remain in contact I decided it was safer for the both of us to refrain from doing so, just in case something happened, "Rose-Marie, if you'll excuse Alexandra and I for a moment I'd like to catch up with her" his gaze moved from the Pixie cut vampire named Rose to me "come, we have much to catch up on" I looked to Elena and nodded to her letting her know that while Elijah was here she would not be hurt, I followed Elijah into an abandoned sitting room where he removed a cover from two of the chairs and motioned for me to sit down, we sat in silence as he took in my appearance "you've dyed your hair" he said touching the faded blonde at the very tips of my hair.

"You know what he's like" I mumbled to him, if I kept it the inky raven black hair I was born with Klaus would've found me too easily, so I'd changed its colour every few weeks just to keep him off my trail. But now he'd found me I'd decided to let it go back to its original colour, which matched Damon's and my mothers.

"Yes he was always infatuated by you" he said as he moved slightly making more dust plume into the air "have you seen him of late?" Elijah asked as he watched my reaction and smiled when I twitched, he knew I wanted to tell him everything but couldn't, not with Elena in the other room, possibly getting a play by play from our captors.

"If memory serves me well" I said with a smirk, "which it does often, he wasn't  the only one who was infatuated with me, weren't you the one who told him that it would be good to keep me around all those years ago?" I laughed lightly when Elijahs face went red.

"I must go see why Rose-Marie has called me here, I have a sneaking suspicion it has to do with that girl that tried to run" he stood and looked at me, when I didn't move I saw him raise his eyebrow.

"There's something I haven't told. You or Klaus when I was first turned" I looked at him and he nodded "Katherine's alive" I looked him dead in the eye, I expected him to explode in anger at me not saying anything when we first met or even when we were travelling together for all those years.

"Yes, I'm quite aware of that" he told out his hand and helped me up "you have your reasons as to why you didn't tell me, Alexandra and I trust you implicitly" we walked out of the room we where in and made her way to where Elena was, Elijah went to over to Elena, grabbed the tops of her arms I watched as he leaned into her face and took in her looks, she was the doppelgänger there was no doubt about that, he leaned into her neck and took a deep breath in "human, it's impossible" he mumbled into her neck before pulling back and looking her dead in the eye "hello there"
