I told my mother I was going to take her. She didn’t believe me. Thought I couldn’t do something like that.
But after meeting Mehek, everything went to hell.
My friend? Gone.
My reputation? Destroyed after the shootout.
And now they think they can get married and live happily ever after?
Not a chance. Never. I’ll make sure of it.
I was going to let her go. I really was. But not anymore.
I needed answers. I needed too many things. If they get married, it would make everything harder—and worse. Maybe it’s selfish,
But also I felt like Mehek’s life was about to become hell.
“Ugh… hold her properly,” Erin struggled to steady her. From the back of the resort, Erin pulled her out, with Satvik stepping in to carry the unconscious Mehek.
The plan had gone off without a hitch. The chloroform we pumped through the vent in her room worked perfectly, rendering her unconscious within minutes.
The chaos inside the resort—the shouting, the noise—provided the perfect cover.
It was easy to slip her out unnoticed while everyone else was too distracted to realize what was happening.
Now, she was in my claws .
I placed Mehek gently in the backseat, her unconscious form leaning slightly against the door.
My mind raced, but I kept my focus. We didn’t have time for mistakes.
Satvik leaned against the car, smirking as he adjusted his makeshift housekeeping uniform. “Erin, admit it—your boyfriend looks ridiculously hot, even in this getup,” he teased, raising an eyebrow at her.
Erin shot him a disgusted glare. “Seriously? This is not the time for your nonsense!” she snapped, crossing her arms.
She turned to me then, her eyes still layered with unease. “Vibhav… I hate your work and you . You know I do. But you promised you’d take care of her.”
Her voice cracked slightly, but she steadied herself. “I’ve erased the CCTV footage. Everything is clear. Just… do what you need to and get out of here.”
“Understood,” I replied, my tone sharp and final.
Satvik, ever the wildcard, decided this was the perfect moment to hug Erin and plant a quick kiss on her cheek. “Thanks, babe,” he said with a grin, completely ignoring the tension in the air.
