Jimin returned from his trip with his friends feeling lighter, more refreshed. The fresh air, the laughter, and the sense of belonging had been a breath of fresh air in his life.
Jimins POV:
I was really happy after that trip. I had spent so much time with myself and my friends, and it felt amazing. But as soon as we reached the dorm gate, I saw Jk smoking nearby. He looked exhausted, with dark circles under his eyes, as if he hadn’t slept at all. Our eyes met, and without a second thought, he came over and wrapped his arms around my waist.
“How was your trip?” he asked, his voice low and tired.
Seeing him like that made me feel bad. I cupped his cheeks gently and rubbed my nose against his. He closed his eyes and took deep, shaky breaths. When I opened mine to look at him, I saw tears slipping down his cheeks.
“Why are you crying?” I asked softly.
“I missed you,” he whispered.
We both smiled at each other, and I said, “Let’s go to the room.”
He just nodded, picking up my trolley with one hand and holding mine with the other. As we walked, I thought to myself, No matter how much he ignored me, I still love him so much. Maybe he understands me more than I think. And just that thought made me feel so much better inside.
When we reached our room, Suga opened the door. He had arrived earlier, but I had stayed outside with Jk. The others had already gone inside, so I dropped my bag inside and followed Jk to the balcony.
Looking at him closely, I asked, “Why do you look so exhausted? Haven’t you slept?”
He sighed, “No, I was studying… and there were some family problems too. I guess that’s why I look so tired.”
I pressed a gentle kiss to his forehead and said, “Forget about everything that happened. I love you. I really love you.”
He gave me a big smile and replied with warmth in his eyes.
Then, I started telling him all about my trip what we did, where we went, and how much fun we had.
After returning from the balcony, Jk and I decided to grab something to eat at the café. We spent some time there, talking about random things, sharing soft smiles, and enjoying each other's company. It felt peaceful, like the old days.
After finishing our meal, Jk suggested we go for a walk. Without hesitation, I nodded, and soon we were strolling down the quiet street, hand in hand. The air was crisp, and the night felt comforting with him beside me. I was about to tell him something funny that happened on my trip when his voice cut through the calmness.
"Baby… Somi had an accident a few days ago," he said, his voice hesitant and heavy.
Everything around me seemed to freeze. My footsteps faltered, and my grip on his hand loosened. "What? How? What happened?" I asked, my heart pounding.
Jk let out a deep sigh and explained everything how Somi had been in a car accident, how serious it was, and how she'd barely made it out of critical condition. "She’s stable now," he added quickly, sensing my worry. "But she’s still weak. My mom insisted she stay at our house after she's discharged... so she’ll be there for a while."
My stomach dropped. His house? With his mom? My chest tightened, and I struggled to keep my voice steady. "And you… you’re okay with that?"
Jk looked at me, his expression unreadable. "She needs help, Jiminie. I couldn’t just say no."
I swallowed the lump in my throat and forced a small nod. "Yeah, of course. I mean… it makes sense." But inside, I felt a sharp pang of insecurity clawing at me. Somi his ex was going to be living under his roof.
