It was just another usual day for Jimin.
He was going about his routine, unaware of the storm brewing elsewhere. As evening set in, his phone buzzed. It was a call from Jungkook's mother.

"Jiminaa," she said, her voice trembling with a mixture of anger and concern, "something terrible happened today. Naya crossed all limits."

Jimin straightened up, sensing the urgency.

She continued, "Today, Naya tricked Minjun. She asked him if he wanted to go to the park. When he agreed, she put him in the car but instead of heading to the park, she drove recklessly, speeding like crazy. Minjun was terrified! When they finally came back home, he was so shaken that he threw all his paints and colors at Naya in fear and anger."

Before Jimin could respond, she added, "Just then, Jungkook came home. When he saw the mess Minjun had made, he got furious  but he didn’t understand what had really happened."

Hearing this, Jimin’s blood boiled. His hands clenched into fists, his entire body trembling with rage. How dare anyone hurt Minjun like this?

Without a second thought, Jimin said firmly,
"I'll help you. I'll make sure she can’t hurt Minjun again."

A storm had awakened inside him and this time, he was ready to fight.

THE NEXT DAY

Jungkook’s mom couldn’t hide her happiness. Ever since Jimin had agreed to help, it was as if a heavy burden had lifted from her heart. Without wasting a moment, she decided to invite Jimin over for dinner that very evening.

When Jimin arrived at the house, the atmosphere instantly shifted. Jungkook’s mom welcomed him warmly, almost too warmly, her relief visible on her face.

"You have no idea how much it means to me that you’re here," she whispered, patting Jimin’s hand with motherly affection.

Jimin smiled politely, tossing his hair back with a slight flick effortlessly sassy  and stepped inside.

But just as he entered the living room, his smile stiffened.
There, sitting with an irritatingly smug expression, was Naya.
Their eyes met, and Jimin immediately knew he didn’t like her. At all.

Before Jimin could say anything, he felt a small tug at his pants. He looked down and saw the cutest little boy staring up at him with wide, sparkling eyes.
It was Minjun.

"You ame(came)!" Minjun squealed, throwing his tiny arms around Jimin’s leg.

Jimin crouched down with a grin. "Of course, sweetie. Did you think I'd leave you alone with these crazy people?" he whispered dramatically, making Minjun giggle uncontrollably.

From across the room, Jungkook watched the scene unfold, his eyes following Jimin's every move.
Jimin could feel Jungkook’s gaze heavy, intense.
When Jimin finally looked up, their eyes locked and for a moment, the world faded out.
The tension was electric.

Jimin smirked slightly, standing up slowly, fully aware of Jungkook’s lingering stare.
Jungkook’s jaw tightened just a bit, his fingers clenching the glass he was holding.

"Focus, Jk," Jimin teased inwardly, giving him a subtle, knowing look before turning his attention back to Minjun.

Meanwhile, Naya, sitting nearby, caught the tension between them and she didn’t like it one bit.
She cleared her throat loudly, trying to drag Jimin’s attention away. "Nice of you to show up, Jimin," she said sweetly, but Jimin wasn’t fooled.

He turned to her with a dazzling fake smile.
"Nice of you to still be here," he replied, voice dripping with sarcasm, causing Jungkook's mom to stifle a laugh behind her napkin.

Dinner was served soon after, and they all sat around the big dining table.
Minjun insisted on sitting beside Jimin practically climbing into his lap.

As they ate, Jimin and Minjun became an unstoppable team. Every time Naya tried to speak or act smart, Minjun would loudly mimic her, making faces, and Jimin would dramatically clutch his heart like he was dying of laughter.

At one point, Naya tried to lecture Minjun about "good manners."
Without missing a beat, Minjun threw a small piece of broccoli at her  hitting her right on the nose.
Jimin gasped theatrically and whispered to Minjun, "Legend behavior!"

Minjun giggled and high-fived Jimin under the table.

Jungkook’s mom was laughing so hard she had to excuse herself to the kitchen for a moment.

Jungkook, however, wasn’t laughing. He was watching Jimin again the way Jimin’s eyes sparkled when he laughed, the way he leaned toward Minjun protectively, the way he handled every awkward moment with fearless sass.

At one point, while reaching for a napkin, Jimin accidentally brushed Jungkook’s hand.
Both froze for a second the world holding its breath.

Jimin’s cheeks flushed lightly, but he quickly masked it by rolling his eyes.
"Careful, JK. Your hand almost exploded from touching perfection," Jimin teased under his breath.

Jungkook bit back a smile, lowering his eyes to his plate, but the tips of his ears turned red.

Minjun, oblivious to the undercurrents, decided he had enough sitting properly. He crawled into JM’s lap, holding onto him like a koala.

Jimin hugged him back easily. "See, this is how you know who the real favorite is," he said loudly, sending a pointed smirk in Naya’s direction.

Naya’s face twisted, but she said nothing.

After dinner, as everyone moved to the living room, Jungkook’s mom pulled Jimin aside.
Her voice was thick with emotion.
"Thank you," she said, holding Jimin’s hands tightly. "Just by being here… you've brought a light into this house again."

Jimin’s sassy facade melted for a moment. He smiled softly. "Anything for Minjun," he said, giving her hand a gentle squeeze.

Behind them, Jungkook leaned against the doorway, watching Jimin with a look he didn’t even try to hide anymore.

This wasn’t the end.
In fact, this chaotic, messy, heart-thumping dinner was just the beginning.

And somewhere deep inside, Jimin knew it too.
