The evening air in Jungkooks mansion was unnaturally still, as if the walls themselves were holding their breath. The faint hum of the air conditioner filled the silence, a sound so constant it almost felt oppressive.

Jungkook stood near the window, one hand in his pocket, the other holding a glass of water he hadn’t touched. His reflection stared back at him in the dark glass a face that looked calm on the surface but felt like it was being torn apart inside.

He could still see the video Naya had shown him.
Jimin at that party, slipping something into his drink.
His eyes locked on him.
His steps slow, deliberate, like he knew exactly how to draw him in.
His whisper into his ear that night suddenly replayed in his mind in a different, darker tone.

Every image stung, mixing with Naya’s venomous voice: "he’s doing all this to trap you… he’ll claim he’s pregnant… it might not even be yours."

He shut his eyes briefly, pressing his tongue against his teeth until his jaw ached.

Jimin stood in the doorway, holding his bag against his side. His hair was a little messy from playing with Minjun, his cheeks slightly flushed. In another time, another state of mind, Jungkook would’ve smiled just looking at him like this. But now… now he couldn’t even decide if the warmth in his chest was love or anger.

Jk…” His voice was soft, almost careful, like he was approaching a wounded animal.

He didn’t turn fully toward him, just glanced with an unreadable expression. “You wanted to talk.”

he nodded, stepping closer. “Yes. I… I found out something today, and you need to know. I didn’t want to say it over the phone.”

Then say it,” he said flatly.

His hands twisted together in front of him. he took a breath, his eyes flicking to Jungkooks face before darting away again. “half n month ago… the last time we were together… I didn’t think about it then, but… today the doctor told me....”

Pregnant?” he cut in, his voice sharp and cold, like a blade slicing through her words.

Jimin froze mid-breath. His lips parted in shock. “…How… how did you?”

Jungkook gave a small, humorless laugh, setting the untouched glass on the table with a muted clink. “Because someone already told me. And they told me something else too.”

His brows knit together. “Who told you?”

He stepped forward, closing the distance between them just enough for his height to shadow him. “They told me to ask you for proof. A DNA test.”

The words hit him like a slap. he took half a step back, blinking in disbelief. “You… you think I’m lying? About this?”

I think,” Jungkook said slowly, “that I don’t know what to think anymore.”

The hurt in his chest quickly turned to anger. “Jungkook, you know me. You know I wouldn’t...”

Do I?” His voice rose slightly, the frustration spilling through the cracks in his composure. “Because I also know what I saw in that video.”

His breath caught. “What video?”

He let out a bitter scoff. “Don’t pretend. The one where you slipped something into my drink at that party. Then came to me… touched me… whispered in my ear like it was all innocent.”

Jimin’s eyes widened, his head shaking instinctively. “That’s not Jk, that’s not what happened! Who showed you that?”

“Naya,” he said without hesitation.

The name felt like acid in his ears. “Of course,” he muttered, his voice trembling with rage. “And you believed her over me.”

Because what I saw” He stopped himself, his voice faltering just enough to betray that he wasn’t as certain as he sounded. “…it looked real, Jimin. Too real.”

he took a shaky step forward, his eyes glassy now. “So, you’d rather believe a woman who has hated me since the day we met? You’d rather believe someone who’s been trying to break us apart?”

Jungkook didn’t answer. His gaze drifted to the floor, jaw clenching again.

“I came here,” Jimin continued, his voice breaking, “to tell you something that should have been a moment between us. I was scared, I didn’t know how you’d react… but I never thought you’d greet me with accusations.”

His tears threatened to spill over now. “Jungkook, this is your baby. And I don’t need to prove that to you with a test, because I thought we had something stronger than doubt.”

Jungkooks throat worked, but no words came. The silence between them stretched, heavy and suffocating.

Finally, he shook his head, his voice lowering to a whisper. “You know what hurts the most? It’s not that you saw the video. It’s that you didn’t even give me a chance to explain before you decided what I am.”

he turned, walking toward the door. His hand paused on the handle, but he didn’t look back. “If you want a DNA test… fine. But I’m not staying in this house another second until you decide whose words mean more to you mine, or hers.”

Jungkooks voice was low, almost cold, but every word cut like glass.
I’m getting married to Naya next week. I think… whatever was between us ends here. The news of our engagement is already out, and marrying her is the right thing for me to do.”

He didn’t even realize how cruel his words sounded, how much they twisted like a knife in Jimin’s chest.

But Jimin’s eyes darkened, his anger flaring. “Do you even hear yourself? Do you know what you’ve just done? From the very start… you’ve been the one betraying me.” His voice trembled not from weakness, but from fury.

he took a step closer, his tone sharpening. “But not anymore. You’ll see exactly what i am capable of.”

His chin lifted defiantly. “And you can tell your so-called ‘oldie’ fiancée that Jimin is not afraid of her. I won’t give up what’s mine to anyone. What belongs to me…”He leaned in, his words almost a promise, almost a threat. “…I’ll take it back. No matter what.”

The door closed behind him with a thud that felt louder than a slam.

Jungkook stood alone in the middle of the room, the ghost of his voice lingering in the air. His chest felt heavy, torn between the image he saw and the woman he knew.

Somewhere deep down, a small voice whispered that he’d made a mistake. But above it, Naya’s words still echoed like poison:
Ask him for a DNA test… you might not be the father.
