You say that in a couple of years it'll seem small and I should get over it? Well the day hasn't come when this seems small so what do I do now?

What do I do now?

Amity's POV

"Amity? Amity!" Emma waves her hand in front of my face and snapped me out of my little daze. "God you should stop zoning out after I mention Dan and Phil." She said as she sips her drink. "Sorry." Was all I said.

We were at a local Starbucks -yes you can all shout the word 'basic' at me- and we were just talking. Well, Emma was talking and I was listening and zoning out from time to time.

"Anyways, time to real talk here." She looked me straight in the eyes, "Let's talk about Tumblr Queen."

I groaned in response. She knew about me being Tumblr Queen because she follows me on Twitter. She knew that this was a subject I never talk about to people. Well, except Dan and Phil.

"I don't want to." I whined. "Oh but you need to. Now, why aren't you online anymore?" She asks.

"Because I'm usually busy." I lied and crossed my arms. "You're lying." She states, making me sigh in defeat. "Because I'm afraid."

"Of what?"

"Of all the comments. I'm not a strong person." I admit. She scoffs, "You're like the toughest person I know!"

I laughed a bitter laugh, "That's because you've known me for two weeks."

"Fair point." After that an awkward silence fell upon us and was broken by my question. "I have been checking now and then but I haven't checked this month. What's going on now?" I asked while unlocking my phone.

Emma instantly snatched my phone out of my hand and she nervously laughed.

"Everything's all good. Nothing more, nothing less." She shrugs. "Okay then give me my phone, I want to check it." I said, slowly reaching for my phone.

She taps a few things on my phone and flashes me the screen. "There, there you go. You saw twitter. now you're updated. Let's go have a sleepover at my house!" Emma said really fast.

"Firstly, no I am not updated and secondly, I have to make dinner today so no, sorry."

"I know, I know it's just that I don't want you to be upset." She said innocently. "Oh?" Was all I said.

"Everyone's been bashing on you lately," She starts but pauses to gulp, "Then came people who tried to sort things out calmly.. then came more drama because you weren't online. It would've helped if you were online."

"Would've? As in would have? As in a past tense?" I asked her. She nods and looks down to her fingers, "Yeah because you could've cleared it up and it would be a lot better. Dan and Phil both tweeted for everyone to back off and,"

She took a deep breath, "And so people started calling you p-pathetic for not standing up for yourself. Then more people started to defend you but they did question why you weren't online."

Emma looked up at me to see my reaction before speaking again but she was weirded out by how blank my expression was.

"And then since Dan and Phil got into this whole thing the phandom started to be more involved in this whole thing and it caused worse things to happen."

"That's not it though." She says with a sigh at the end, "You're now more known as 'Just Another Name.' Literally. But it's not that bad I mean, we're probably overreacting!"

"It's the online world after all! None of it really matters once you just move on. I'm sure this seems huge and all but It'll look small in a couple of years." Emma said, trying to cheer me up.

"Well yeah Em, 'in a couple of years' you said. This isn't the future Em, this is the present. A couple of years is far away. And I'm still facing the present." I point out. "But is it really true?" My voice came out a whisper in the last sentence.

Emma shot me a sorry smile and nods.

Her phone buzzed on the table and she looked at the screen. "I gotta go home, my sister's calling me. But if you need anything just call me." She said before she answered her phone and began gather ing her things.

Emma mouthed a 'goodbye' and headed out the cafe, chatting with her sister on the phone.

-

I walked bak home shortly after Emma left and I was told to make dinner by mum.

That didn't work out so well because my head wasn't focused on the cooking and more to the things Emma said so I burnt the meat.

And I overcooked the spaghetti great job Amity. You might as well crown me the next Master Chef to the next Gordon Ramsay, whichever comes first really.

But my mum came to the rescue and saved us by making another batch of spaghetti and improvising with the burnt meat so we ended up with a not so disgusting dinner.

Dinner was the usual, mum and dad were talking and telling stories and I just nod and pretend like I'm listening although I am clearly not.

After washing the dishes (and also shivering because I touched the wet food) I headed upstairs to finally sleep.

And surprise, surprise I couldn't.

My eyes just stayed open and my brain was just thinking about so many things. I didn't wanna look at Twitter now because I'm not in the mood to feel worse than I already do.

Staring up at the ceiling 'til 2 AM wasn't what I planned to do but oops, I did it again!

Britney Spears, come up to the stage!

Sorry for the awful jokes, I'm not quite a night or morning person.

My phone rang which was the most annoying sound you can hear at 2 AM so I clicked on the button to answer it and put him or her on speaker without looking at the caller ID because.. well because I was buried under my pillows.

"Go to sleep, whoever you are!" I shout to my phone.

"It's me, Phil."
