History's just bound to repeat itself.

White bare walls was a sight I was familiar with. Blue plastic chairs spread across the hallway, each seat occupied with a weeping family, relative, or friend of a person behind one of the doors.

I sat still with no energy left in my bones or in my muscles to cry or to sob. "Hey." Dan pulled me out of my thoughts with a caring tone.

"He's gonna be alright." He gives me a reassuring smile that I could not return.

A man with brown hair and blue eyes stormed out of the doors beside me, making me jump.

He scanned the room whilst tapping on a clipboard. Most of the eyes in the hallway was directed to him.

After an agitating silence, he finally spoke. "Relatives and friends of Philip Michael Lester."

With those words I stood up along with Dan. Restless faces and tear stained cheeks decorated out faces.

The doctor opened the door to reveal Phil.

Tubes coming in and out of him. His chest raising up and down in an unorganized fashion. Some breaths longer than others.

His shoulder was where most of the machines were attached to. I winced at the sight of the blood on his shoulder seeping through white fabric.

I shook my head in disbelief.

This cannot be Phil.

Not again.

Tear were streaming down my face and now I had the faint feeling in my head again.

Dan looked worried for both of us. He tried to hug me but we both stood still when we heard a faint sound coming from the room.

Beep.

There goes his life.

I shot up, frantically looking everywhere in the room only to be greeted by the familiar white walls that belonged to my room and an english textbook in front of me.

It was all a dream.

I sighed in both relief and fear once I calmed myself down, wiping away the tears on both my face and the textbook my head rested upon.

A knock on my door startled me and I turned around with weary. Mum stepped out of the thick oak door.

"You ready for the exam?" She asked with a small, friendly smile.

And which to that, I respond with a nod and a soft smile.

As ready as I'll ever be.

When she went out of my room I took a quick shower and got dressed in the smartest clothes I can think of.

Hopefully I don't look like a news reporter from the 1920s accidentally.

I headed downstairs with my heart beating rapidly. With a bag strap hung loosely on my right shoulder and a face with a layer of make up, I was dressed to impress.

I almost snorted at that.

Well, to be honest, I have never impressed anyone in my life.
