Shawn's POV:

"You can't be serious. No one in the right mind would do that." I argued back angrily, trying to get out of this dumb dare.

We always played this when we had free period but I've never had to do something like this.

Sometimes I hate Ian for knowing so much about me.

Ian smirked at my expression plastered on my face and hastily shoved me in the direction of her.

"There's no backing out of a dare and you know that. It's only for two weeks, then you will be done with her... Just do it, you chicken."

I gritted my teeth at his comment, resisting the strong urge to punch him. As I dragged myself to her, I could hear all the boys in our group laughing. This is costing me my reputation, I can't be seen with some loser like her.

As I walked up to her, the people she talked to took a step back. She just kind of stared questionably, making me feel awkward.

"Hey, um Grace... I know this is really sudden, but I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date tomorrow?" Her eyes lit up as the words fell out of my mouth and I almost felt bad for her. Almost.

She nodded in response and smiled lightly, then turned back to her friends. I walked away after a quick moment, mentally cursing at myself for accepting that dare.

This is going to be a long two weeks.

Grace's POV:

"But don't you think that was weird? He was right; it was really sudden."

Vanessa tried to tell me once more but I merely shrugged in reply. I was happy he wanted to go out with me, honestly, but something felt weird about the way he worded it.

I decided to ignore the thought at the back of my mind and just enjoy the fact he actually asked me out.

"You know he's going to break your heart, right?" Gabby said, trying to mentally prepare me or something.

"Maybe." I mumbled as I continued staring at my feet, waiting to speak until someone brought up a new conversation to speak.

*******
afternoon; the next day

"Does this look alright?" I asked Gabby once again. I had changed my outfit at least three times already and still wasn't happy with it.

"Yes, now stop changing or else your hair will look like you just slept through a tornado."

I agreed with her and decided to put my disagreement to rest. I applied some light makeup and quickly slipped on my Vans.

He told me to meet him at this local frozen yogurt place in the center of town. I didn't go much, mainly because the last time I did, someone poured their cup of fro-yo on me.

I grabbed my phone and told her goodbye as I shoved it in my bag pocket, then began my decent walk to the main part of town.

It only took about fifteen minutes and by the time I had finally arrived, Shawn was already waiting by himself at a booth. I barely mumbled hi, which he did the same, and we both stood to go grab some cups.

We both filled it up a little less than halfway, included with toppings. It was charged by how much it weighed, making the total for each about seven dollars. He paid for both of ours and we sat down.
Neither of us said a word for a while, until I decided to screw it.

"Do you come here a lot?" I quietly asked, because I had only been here a couple of times.
He only shrugged and continued eating the remains of his yogurt.

Rude.

"What's your favorite flavor?" He didn't even look up as I spoke, "Cookie dough." He got up and threw away all of our trash, right when the door to the small shop opened.

The typical popular group rolled in and I mentally cursed at myself. Where is Shawn when you need him?

"Oh, hey there loser. Can you get up so we can sit?" A girl named Brooke said, more demanding than asking. I remained silent and moved to get up, groaning when they decided to speed up the process and push me to the floor.

Snickers and laughs rose about, even from people in the shop whom I've never seen before.

"Yo Shawn, commere." One of the jocks slurred, motioning him back to where they stood. I picked myself up quickly and watched as he walked over, not bothering to acknowledge my existence this time.

"What's up Cam?" He replied and they did a quick bro-hugged.

"Were you hanging out this trash?" He referred to my being, and I looked at him with plead in my eyes but he hesitated slightly before turning it down.

"Hell no. Why would I ever do that?"

"C'mon Shawn, we all know about it." Shawn seemed freeze, stopping for a moment.

"Are you going to ask her out now? The days aren't going to go by quicker if you wait." I was confused, especially when he took my hand.

"Grace, I know this is really soon, but will you be my girlfriend?" I was taken back by the words. I didn't want to turn him down, and he's cute so...

"Yes." I smiled and he softly hugged me. I felt multiple pairs of eyes pierce through my back but I did my best to ignore it. We hugged for less than two seconds before he pulled away. That made everything more awkward.

I watched him lowly whisper something to Cam and they both laughed.

"Have fun with your new girlfriend, but I don't think you need that because you love her." Shawn's eyes went dark at the insert, getting mad for some reason and roughly dragging me out of the yogurt place.

Well, I guess I have a boyfriend.
