Grace's POV:
I wanted to destroy everything in that moment. As if getting a terrible grade was bad enough. Finding out what I actually turned in made it worse.
Now someone probably has my work and writing, taking credit for what isn't theirs.
I was beyond pissed.
His note.
I mixed up my assignment with his dumb note. He even had the nerve to write me a note, saying it was a lie.
Everything was a lie.
I didn't even have to read past the second sentence, I could tell what he was saying.
The fact I actually turned this in for a grade by accident made it a lot worse. I wasn't the type to lash on others because of anger but a sudden feeling washed over me as I sat next to him, the person who made these past weeks special, just to say he was dared as a joke.
"Don't say anything. What you said in this damn paper was enough. I just- ugh, fuck. No, fuck you! Fuck you and your stupid fucking friends. I can't believe I said yes when you walked up." I cussed at him loudly, my hands running through my hair.
I angrily grabbed my back pack, about to slip on my shoes when I felt a weak grip on my wrist. I slapped his hand away, rolling my eyes mentally.
"Don't ever fucking touch me, or talk to me again." I hissed, putting my shoes on all the way quickly. I ran out of Shawn's house soon after, my bag harshly hitting against my back.
I let my emotions take control of the situation, urging me as I flipped over my porch decorations. The chairs flew into the rock bed beside the concrete, the small plant that was on the table is now in the bush.
I breathed heavily on my porch, the deep feeling of regret in the back of my throat kicking in.
I pulled open the door, ignoring any other issues occurring and running up to my room. I slammed my bag down, collapsing on the bed. My mouth let out small whimpers and gasps, trying to control my breathing patterns.
I shakily opened my window, carefully climbing the pegs I made on the side of my house. I laid on the roof, just staring out into the woods off in the distance. I had run out of tears, which left an empty feeling throughout my body.
My thoughts went back to the look on his face when I yelled at him. He had pleaded and tried to explain but I couldn't stand to look at him. He had lied for so long to me but I had been so oblivious that I didn't realize he never liked me.
My first (and probably only) relationship was a joke for fun. He never had feelings for me, he was simply good at faking emotions.
Or I was oblivious as fuck to his annoyance at my presence.
Eh, most likely both.
Now I have a C- in the class because instead of grabbing my writing, I grabbed his note he wrote to me. The more I thought about it, the more I realize what a coward he is.
He couldn't even tell me to my face he had lied about everything, the entire time we spent together. I thought I had felt something too, which was the worst part. I had seeked after a boy who thought of me as a joke.
At the time, I hadn't even bothered looking at what I did wrong, on what I thought was my essay. There was nothing wrong with it, and I knew that.
Now I kind of wish I had checked it out and came to his house angry instead of looking like a bigger idiot, who's bawling their eyes out over some loser with no heart.
I didn't even read all the way through the note, the rest was probably him saying, 'Sike! Your dumbass mind thought I actually liked you.'
Is it bad to wish pain on someone? Yes? It can't be that bad.
It's not like I'm not wishing physical harm on him, I just wish he'd felt like shit after doing that to me. That goes to show, don't trust people who suddenly out of no where, give a damn about you.

Shawn's POV:
I haven't stopped crying since she left my house. I don't think she even read the entire note.
She told me never to talk to her again. But I had to find a way to get her to realize it wasn't fake.
I had feelings too (shocker) and they were real for her. Grace was so different compared to everyone else, she could be outgoing but concealed at the same time.
She knew her opinions on things and didn't budge when you tried to convince her of things.
Like when we argued about what was better, Timmie's or Dunkin' Donuts. Of course Tim Horton's was better, anyone who had a different view has obviously never tried it.
I chuckled faintly at the somewhat recent memory, then snapping back to reality and remembering there'll never be moments like that again.
I'll never get to hold her, I'll never get to see her eyes widen and light up as she talked about her favorite bands.
She'll never be there to tell me to shut up when I'm being rude to my sister.
She'll never be there to beg me to play her a song on my guitar til I finally gave in.
But, I don't think I wanted to give that up. No, I don't think I can give that up. That's not how it's supposed to end. The girl is supposed to understand and we're supposed to date.
Isn't that how the movies work?
I have to find a way to get her to see it was never some stupid dare to me. Sure, the first two days it was, but that was before I decided to open my eyes.
If there's a will, there's a way.
