Grace's POV:

We pulled away after at least a minute of a soft hug, sitting back down in our seats across from each other almost right afterwards.

"So— you know that text I sent you?" He air-quoted the word I, emphasizing it may not have been him.

"The one about never talking to you again? Yeah." I laughed dryly, looking at my spoon as I scooped up some chocolate frozen yogurt. I eased my tensed shoulders back, waiting for a response.

"I know this is gonna sound fake but I promise I didn't actually send that– It was my friend," He tried to explain, stumbling over his words a little. I just nodded, taking another bite. I didn't know what else to say; or even if I believe him.

I decided not to think further about the topic and just let it go. If we were starting over as friends, I don't want to already be holding a grudge against him.

We both finished our frozen yogurt while talking about random things, from the penguins at the zoo to what color Shawn should paint his room. I don't remember how we ended up there.

He stood and collected my cup, throwing ours away. I got up from the booth we were in, zipping my jacket.

"Wanna hang out at my place? It's late and I would hate for you to be cold walking home, since my house is closer." Shawn couldn't see but my cheeks may have blushed a little.

"Fine," I pretended to pout, making him laugh. which, I may add, sounded something along the lines of angelic.

"Hey, can you hold this for me?" I looked to Shawn, who had his hands balled up. I just nodded, holding mine out. To my dismay, he puts his hand in mine and kept walking.

That sneaky little shit. I couldn't help but smile down at the ground, mentally laughing at how smooth that was.

We walked to his house mostly in silence, except for pointing out things on the street or making odd comments.

He opened the door for me, stepping in before him. I breathed in, recognizing the scent. It had been a couple weeks since I'd last been here, ever since I got that grade.

I pushed away the thought once again and flopped down on his couch, the dim lighting making the remote hard to see.

"What do you want to watch?" He asked, finding the controller before I even had a chance to get adjusted to the dark room.

The screen lit suddenly, making me internally wince slightly. Netflix appeared on the screen in bold, "Netflix and chill?"

I cringed at the name but remained calm as he picked Friends. "How about Netflix and shut the fuck up because I actually like this show?"

"Damn," Shawn commented, both of us laughing but not missing the claps during the theme song.

After fifteen episodes, my eyes slowly begun shutting as it was a struggle to keep them up. My head laid on Shawn's shoulder as we softly cuddled, making it easy to fall asleep.

After the episode ended, Shawn seemed to notice as he checked the time.

"It's 2:34 and we got home around 7:00," He laughed, the noise dying down he noticed I wasn't replying. I was so close to sleeping now that the tv wasn't playing.

"Oh, you're sleeping. Sorry," He sheepishly mumbled, lightly moving my head onto the couch. "We can go sleep in my bed, it's warmer. So just go back to sleep if I wake you," He rambled quietly as he lifted me up with ease, slowly going up each stair at a time.

"You know, you're actually really beautiful," Shawn mumbled as he pulled down the sheets, laying me softly in it. "I wish I could tell you that, but you might punch my face," He laughed lightly.

"I really like you, maybe even lo— I mean, I'm glad you agreed to be friends. Because I don't think I could go much longer without contact." He said, pulling off his shirt and pants as I could hear him unbuckling the belt.

"I'll ask you out one day, like properly. When I man up and you like me back, that is.

"It'll be fun, I'm going to plan something nice for you when I ask," He suddenly laughed, "I'll show up at your door with a puppy so you can't resist." He was faced away, so I weakly smiled.

He climbed into bed, spooning me from my backside. "You know, I think I might even love you."
