ARHAN
Age-12 years
The announcement sent a thrill down my spine. "And the award goes to none other than our Arhan Malik!"
The applause erupted, filling the auditorium. I couldn't help but smirk, shooting a confident glance at my friend,Rehan He looked slightly defeated, probably realizing he had lost the bet we made earlier.
"Looks like I have won," I said, leaning back in my chair with a smug smile. "You owe me a favor, don't you remember?"
"I told you Rehan to not make a bet with this chord monster, you will lose"Veer shook his head patting Rehan's shoulder.
"Yeah, yeah," he rolled his eyes at me as I headed over to the stage. I greeted the principal and my class teacher as they handed me the award.
"Thank you," I said to the teacher, who handed me the award, my voice filled with pride.
As I held the award in my hands, I scanned the crowd, searching for my parents. A small pang of disappointment hit me when I realized they weren't there.
But I knew they were busy with work, so they couldn't make it. I smiled, understanding their absence, and took solace in the knowledge that they would be proud of me.
After the ceremony, I picked up my guitar bag and slung it over my shoulder. I bid farewell to my friends and turned to Rehan. "Don't forget the bet," I reminded him with a grin.
He nodded in defeat, a rueful smile on his face. "I won't," he sighed.
My driver was waiting for me outside, and as we drove back to my house, I looked at the award in my hands, a smile spreading across my face.
It was a moment of triumph, and despite my parents' absence, I felt a sense of accomplishment and pride that filled my heart.
I want to be a guitarist when I grow up, and that's my passion, which I will accomplish no matter what. It's not my first time winning an award. I have won plenty of times, and all the awards are still placed properly in my room.
As we approached the main entrance of my house, I saw a few black cars hurriedly exiting the mansion gate. They seemed to be in a rush and took the route to the left side of the road, while our car was approaching from the right.
The house was situated in the middle, with roads on both the front and the left side. I looked at the cars, feeling a sense of confusion.
"Was there supposed to be guests at our house today?" I asked driver Uncle, my curiosity piqued.
"I don't know, beta. I didn't hear anything about it," he replied, steering the car inside the main gate. As we passed the entrance, I noticed that the security guard was not at his post.
