ARHAN
"Sir, since the Oberoi industry is supporting them, they are getting back on track," Lucius said as I fired a bullet at the target. The shot was silent, thanks to the silencer I had added to avoid disturbing Ananya.
I handed the gun to Marco just as the bullet hit the bullseye.
"And also the industry-" Lucius's voice faded as my attention shifted. I saw her walking towards the flowers I had planted for her, a genuine smile gracing her lips for the first time since our marriage.
My heart swelled at the sight, but my joy was short-lived. My eyebrows furrowed as I noticed a man blocking her path. When he pushed her, my blood boiled with rage. Without a second thought, I drew my gun and fired at his right hand, then at his skull.
How dare he touch her.
The realization of my actions hit me hard when I saw her collapse to the ground in shock.
"Shit, Arhan, what did you just do?" I muttered, rushing towards her.
Her grey eyes were filled with tears, and she was paralyzed by the scene before her. I tried to help her up, but she yanked her hand away, looking at me with bloodshot eyes filled with hatred and disgust.
"Anay-" My voice was abruptly cut off when she shouted, "How can you do this, Arhan?"
Her tears flowed incessantly.
"How can you kill someone?" she screamed again.
"How can you be so cruel?" she demanded, and I remained silent.
"How can you stoop this low?"
"Why are you always proving me wrong?"
"Answer me!"
"I KNOW YOU ARE NOT AN ORPHAN TOO,YOU LIED ABOUT IT TOO,TO GAIN MY SYMPATHY,TELL ME ARHAN DID YOUR PARENTS TEACHED YOU TO KILL SOMEONE?"
She struck my chest repeatedly. Her blows didn't hurt, but her words did.
Her eyes were filled with nothing but hatred for me. The look on her face was killing me.
I grasped her hands tightly as they pounded against my chest.
No Ananya they didn't teach me how to kill someone but the world did. Your Father did.
I looked at her with no emotions.
"Clean this mess," I ordered, my voice colder than I intended.
