We sat in the car as my father drove us to Derek's house, he didn't want him walking home after what happened last night. He was ashamed of me breaking the laws on more then one occasion, and hasnt spoken to me today. Derek had his head resting against the window and just stared outwards, and only speaking when he was telling my father where and when to turn.
"It's the last house on the left" Derek said sounding so monotone, we neared his house and I spotted a woman who was the double of Derek, his mother no doubt.
She stood in the porch looking around, waiting.
Derek opened the car door and his mothers eyes landed straight on him, she threw the cigarette butt ontot he ground and ran ro him, pulling him into a tight embrace, my father gasped at his actions but I smiled and in all honesty I was jealous of them.
His mother pulled away and looked around making sure no one had seen, "I thought they got you, I was so scared",
"I'm fine, I stayed in Ann's last night, we just had a movie night and I ended up falling alseep" he lied, my dad looked back at me and then back to derek and his mother,
"oh my, your Ann" she smiled into me, I nodded smiling back,
"Derek was only talking about you yesterday, about your fall, are you ok honey",
"yes thank you, and goodbye, it was nice meeting you"
"you too"she grinned.
Derek closed the door but leaned in through the window, "I'll see you soon Ann" he smiled,
"you too" I smiled back.
My dad started the car, and said his goodbyes,
"She's really pretty Derek" his mother said in a low hum,
"mom!" Derek sighed,
I laughed to my self and rolled the window up as we began to take off.
"I don't want you to see that boy again" my dad sighed,
"but dad-",
"there's no buts, I mean it Ann".
I sat in the back seat in a huff when my phone buzzed twice, the first message to pop on the screen was just a numer, I opened it and smiled at the text message:
'just making sure you gave me the right number, and that you have mine, want to go on an adventure tonight? :p'
I pulled the keypad down from the screen and began to type:
'why wouldn't I give you the right number? Hah and that sounds good, what time? :)'
I hit send and went to my other message, it from from Chris.
'Ann, it's Chris's mother, can you come over today, we can't do this alone and yoh might be able to help x'
My heart was in my throat at the message, "dad we need to go to Chris's house, his mam text me, my dad nodded and turned the car around,
I went back into Derek's messages to cancel the plans.
'I can't go today, something came up, sorry, maybe tomorrow:)'
He replied extremely fast to that message, I opened it and sighed, locking my phone without replying.
'k. '
I probably pissed Derek off but Chris comes first, he always comes first.
I knocked twice on the Fosters door and waited for an answer, my dad stood next to me playing with his zipper, when miss Foster finally opended the door,
"oh hi, what a suprise to see you both here" she smiled to us and I was relieved to see her happy again but confused at her statement,
"a surprise? " I questioned," but you messaged me on Chris's phone asking me to come over? ", she raised her eyebrows in confusion, my dad looked at me and he looked pissed," here look I'll show you the messages, I have them right-"
"there's no need to show her, I was the one who text you" we all looked into the hall where chris stood with his phone in his hand, his face looked a lot better but his arm still sat in a cast.
"You, you remember me?" I smiled,
He nodded, "I remember somethings, enough to know that if I want to remember everything, I need you here".
