I hate the mixed signals you give,
Can’t you stop? Let me live.
I’m moving on from feelings that stray,
From the love you left halfway.
You smile at me like no one else,
Breaking walls I tried to weld.
You bother me, with looks so sly,
Your smile's a curse, I can't deny.
I hate that smile, it grew on me,
A chain I wear, though I long to be free.
Why now, when I’m falling out,
Do you return, and fuel my doubt?
Why send signals, so unclear,
When I’m leaving what I held dear?
I’m at the verge, my heart’s a mess,
I won’t fall—I'll love you less.
Yet here I am, denying fate,
Fearing love that comes too late.
I know you love somebody new,
So let me walk away from you.
Don’t act like I’m your only choice,
Don’t haunt my nights with your sweet voice.
Let us be the seatmates we once were,
And bury feelings we can’t concur.
