The moon is bright, a guiding light,
A witness to my quiet fight.
I want to say how much I care,
But fear keeps holding my words there.
I know the truth I’m not your type,
No perfect match, no dream to hype.
These words, they haunt me every day,
Loving you in this silent way.
I love you, yet you’re unaware,
And still, my heart remains ensnared.
What could I do but hide the truth,
Suppress my dreams, my love, my youth?
I want your love, I want to say,
But pity’s love, I’d push away.
No awkwardness, no painful pause,
For we were never “us” because...
We’re not that close, and I can see,
You send me signals, yet I’m unfree.
So deeply in love, but I wish I could stop,
This endless descent, this heart’s aching drop.
So please stop too, these signs you give,
Let me find peace, a way to live.
