Chp 14

The day started like any other. The compound was quiet except for those who conspired against Klaus. Which weren't many due to the Original family annihilating most of their enemies. They had planned to attack the compound in an effort to overtake it and reclaim the city. None of them knew what they were up against. Between the original brothers, the Salvatore brothers, and Marcel they didn't stand a chance. Marcel was disappointed his army of vampires lost quite a few with this stunt. But those still loyal to him accepted the new Mikaelson leadership.

While Klaus and Hayley were on their honeymoon, the female witches, Caroline, and a very subdued Rebekah ventured to the Armory. Rebekah was undaggered just for this occasion, since men were vulnerable to the Siren sisters. When the Sirens' resting place was found, Davina, Bonnie, and Freya sealed it shut. Only Bennett, Claire, and Mikaelson witches together could open their prison. All of the artifacts and cursed objects were recovered and moved to Kol's playhouse in New Orleans.

Lucien showed himself after losing contact with the DeMartels. He walked into the Lion's Den and never walked out. Elijah had planned for Lucien's arrival and saw to his capture. Lucien's deal with the ancestors was revoked after learning the last of the White Oak was destroyed. Davina told Klaus to destroy the knight he carved for Rebekah when they were human. He handed it over to her and Freya to be burned. Freya kept a shaving of it for the immortality spell. She was going to turn Hayley into an Original after giving birth.

Once all four of the ancient vampires were captured, the Hollow was split between them and then the vampires were staked. Killing the Hollow was one of the last enemies needed to be vanquished. All that was left of their known enemies was Greta Sienna and her racist vampires. Her time is ending soon as well. Loyal vampires to the Originals were tasked with eliminating the fascist group.

The compound was in celebration while a few crazed wolves were plotting a wedding. Jackson, Oliver, and their grandmother, Mary and a few other wolves that didn't bend the knee to Klaus had readied a ritual that would override Hayley's union to Klaus. Thus giving Jackson the opportunity to bond to Hayley. The power the Kenner bloodline held before they were cursed has driven them mad. Mary wants that power back, while Jackson wants the queen that was promised to him. Soon, Hayley and Klaus returned, it was time to strike.

Hayley and Caroline had gone to a cafe in the Quarter for brunch. The two sat at a small table outside, enjoying the nice weather while eating and catching up. Caroline told Hayley about the recent drama with Rebekah being daggered again after trying to get rid of Bonnie. But she was taken down by Bonnie then Elijah daggered Rebekah, shoving her back into her coffin hidden at the Plantation house. Hayley then recapped her and Klaus' adventures during their honeymoon. Caroline could see how much Hayley cared for Klaus, if the small fluttering heartbeats weren't enough proof.

Their brunch was interrupted by a few men starting a scuffle a few feet from their table. Caroline was going to break them up so the two women could leave. But she never got that chance, instead she got her neck snapped. The scuffle was staged as a distraction to get close enough to take out the vampire. From there, a Chloroform rag was shoved into Haylay's face from behind and held there until she lost consciousness.

Caroline woke up on the ground by their table with a sore neck and a missing Hayley. First thing she did was call Klaus. She didn't even let him speak before, "Someone took Hayley. We were having brunch when some guys snapped my neck, and now Hayley is gone." She started to hear an echo through the phone, it was then she saw Klaus standing by her with the call still connected. She hung up, and stood, "I'm sorry Klaus."

Klaus held up his hand to stop her rambling, taking a closer look around, as well as a deep breath. When he recognized the scent as the scruffy lad, he couldn't hold back his growl, "Kenner. I knew I should have just killed the lot of them." Both of them head back to the compound to regroup and track Hayley.
