Chapter 1
"Go fish," Princess Madeline says. Her family is one of the many, many families visiting at the moment. The kingdom of Exquire is trying to build up our alliances. I take a card from the pile and place it in my hand.
"Do you have any-" I manage to et out before my maid, Noel comes barging in.
"Princess Aura, you are needed in the front of the house."
"Why?" I ask, placing down my stack cards.
"People are here to visit you," she says. And that's when I try to hold myself together, but I rush out of there without saying thank you to Noel. If it really could be who I think is here, I will most likely die. I haven't visited Maimi in two and a half years and they haven't come to visit me yet either. We keep in touch over the phone and whatnot, but it's not the same. Halfway down the staircase, I take off my golden high heels and run down to the bottom level even faster. I race to the door and and about rub into it.
"Nick! Quinn!" I say and hug then both tight.
"Aura!" They say together.
"But wait. Where's Reid?" I ask, a little confused.
"That's what we need to talk to you about. Are you busy?" Quinn asks.
"What kind of question is that of course she's busy!" Nick responds. Quinn rolls her eyes.
"I'm not busy. Not busy at all. But uh, just so no one hears us, let's head in here," I tell them and lead them outside and into the garden. Our castle has placed in new security, to keep everyone safe.
"Morning officer," I say to one of the guards. He bows and I continue walking until we reach outside.
"And you live here?" Quinn says. I him in agreement as I find one of my favorite benches near the wall.
"Let's sit here," I say and gesture to the bench, and We sit down. "What's up with Reid?"
"Uh, ever since the beginning of senior year, Reid has been dreading college. He doesn't want to leave us," Quinn explains.
"And now being the middle of the year, he is freaking out," Nick continues.
"And now, he's gone missing."
Reid Marks has gone missing?
This can't be happening.
