CHAPTER 40

Last chapter

"Mommy, bakit po pala hindi kayo nakasabay earlier sa breakfast and lunch? Daddy Steve said that you were so tired?" Muntik na akong mabulunan ng biglang magtanong si Lucas habang kumakain kami.

I can feel their eyes on me. I slowly looked at them before turning to Steve. My cheeks heated up when I remembered what happened last night and the reason why I was so tired.

I cleared my throat. "Napuyat lang, anak," sagot ko.

Ramdam ko ang mga titig ni Nico sa akin. Pabalik-balik ang tingin niya sa amin ni Steve na para bang may ideya na siya kung bakit hindi kami nakasabay ng kain kanina. Nagtagal ang tingin nito sa mukha ko.

"Nakatulog ka naman po ng maayos, mommy?" segundang tanong ni Solene habang ngumunguyang nakatingin sa akin.

I smiled at her. "Yes, anak," sagot ko.

Narinig kong tumawa si Steve sa tabi ko. Napatingin ako sa kanya. Kinurot ko ang hita niya. Hindi man lang ito tinablan ng sakit.

"It's good to know that you're comfortable staying at my resort." I looked at Nico when he said that meaningfully.

The corner of his lips lifted, but the look in his eyes says otherwise.

"I love the room, Tito. It's very big, and the view from my room was breathtaking, especially in the morning, the peaceful waves of the sea and the cold wind... It makes me want to stay a little longer." Solene said while smiling at Nico.

Nico smiled back at my daughter. "If you want, whenever you want to visit to have a vacation here, you can use that room," he said.

Napasinghap naman ang anak ko sa narinig.

"Really, Tito?!" Solene happily said. "Thank you po!” she added.

"No problem." Nico said.

"Okay lang ba iyon, Nico?" Sabat ko.

"Yes, Selene," he replied. Tumaas ang isang kilay nito. "Why? You want your room you're currently in? You can also have it... If you want."

"Okay lang, huwag na." Ngumiti ako.

Matapos mag dinner ay sandali lang kaming nag stay sa may beach.
Nagpahanda ng snacks para sa mga bata si Nico at sapin para makaupo kaming lahat sa buhangin.

Katabi ko si Steve at sa kabila ko si Solene. Si Lucas naman ang katabi ni Nico.

I rested my head on Steve's shoulder. "Sleepy?" Steve asked me softly.

I looked at him and smiled. "No, just the wind and the sound of the waves are relaxing." Steve kissed my forehead.

"Uy! How about me, Daddy? Walang forehead kiss?" Solene suddenly said that made me sit properly and look at my daughter, who has been watching us with a smile on her face.

"Of course, princess, come here." Steve chuckled.

Agad namang lumipat sa tabi ni Steve si Solene at nag lalambing na yumakap sa bewang. Katabi ko na ngayon si Lucas dahil umusog ito palapit. Nagtama sandali ang tingin namin ni Nico.

I caught him staring at me. I smiled at him, and he smiled back, but that smile didn't reach his eyes.

"Mommy, I'm sleepy." Sumandal si Lucas sa akin kaya naman ay lumipat ang tingin ko rito.

I brushed his hair using my hands. "Tara na?" I softly said.

He shook his head. He yawned. "I still want to stay here for a little while, Mommy. I want to cherish this moment po that we're complete," antok na boses na sabi niya.
