CHAPTER 35

"Naayos mo na ba ang mga gamit mo, nak?" I asked my son when I visited his room the night before w'll be going to a resort owned by Nico.

Lucas, who was busy arranging his stuff, looked at me and shook his head and pouted. "Not yet, Mom! I don't know what to bring!" maktol nito sabay lapit sa akin at yumakap sa bewang ko.

I chuckled. "Okay, mommy will help you," I said.

Lumayo ito sa pagkakayakap at hinila ako papunta sa kama nito na puno ng mga damit na nagkalat.

Napailing-iling na lang ako.

I helped my son on choosing what he'll bring since we'll be going to a beach. I choose a beach outfit. I also included a five-set of rash guards and a towel and things that he'll be using there.

Isang maleta lang ang sinabi kong dadalhin kada isa para hindi masyadong marami ang gamit na dadalhin.

Tomorrow, we'll be leaving for a short vacation. We'll stay in Nico's resort and we agreed. Hindi sasama sila mommy, daddy, at mga kapatid ko.

Tanging si Steve, Nico, ako, at ang mga bata ang sasama.

Solene already packed her things earlier when I visited her. Ako naman ay mamaya pa.

It's already nine o'clock in the evening. It's still early. Steve will be here early in the morning to fetch us. Nico will be waiting for us in the resort.

After helping Lucas, I left and reminded him to sleep early because we'll be leaving early in the morning.

Napabuntong hininga ako habang nakatingin sa walk-in closet ko. What should I bring? Hmm...

Kinuha ko mula sa pinakataas ang maleta kong nakatingga lang doon. I opened it and put it on the floor. I started putting my two-piece, lotion, beach dresses, my slippers, night dress, perfume, cover-ups, and important things I need.

I planned on bringing a camera for me to capture such a nice view. It's a very nice way to unwind after all the things that happened. It's been a long time since we went to the beach because most of the time. We only settled on our pool at home and didn't bother going out to the beach, and also for our security purposes since we're not sure if there's still someone out there who wants to hurt us, but luckily we're free now since the man who wants us dead is already six feet under the ground and the other one is already rotting in jail.

Matapos mahanda ang mga dadalhin ko para bukas ay naligo ako at nagbihis. I was drying my hair when I received a text message from Nico.

I looked at my phone.

From: Nico

I close the whole resort so that it'll be just us family occupying it. My men will be waiting at the airport. My private plane is already ready for your arrival there. See you, Selene.

I didn't bother replying and just lay down in my bed after totally drying my hair.

Nagising ako sa alarm ko. When I opened my eyes, it was already five am in the morning. Bumangon na ako at nag handa na. Any minute now, Steve will be here.

I decided to wear a hollow, see-through, smocked, loose, deep V-neck maxi dress. Underneath it is my white two-piece. I paired it with my book tote Dior bag and a hermes slippers.

Saktong patapos na akong maglagay ng perfume sa katawan ko ng may kumatok. I smiled. It must be Steve. Kinuha ko na ang maleta at bag ko. I put my sunglasses above my head and opened my room's door.

Hindi naman ako nagkamali at bumungad ang nakangiting si Steve sa akin. I hugged him, and his hands immediately wrapped around my waist. I felt him kiss my forehead.
