CHAPTER 34

From: Nico

Sinundo ko sa bahay si Lucas. He's here in my house with my parents.

Basa ko sa text ni Nico habang nandito ako sa clinic. Binaba ko ang hawak na cellphone at napabuntong hininga.

It's been two weeks since Lucas already knew that Nico's is his father. And one thing I could describe my son for the past few days was that he's very happy.

Iba ang kislap ng mga mata niya ngayon. Masayahin at maypagka seryoso si Lucas noon pa pero ngayon mas dumoble ang pagkamasiyahin nito.

Kada galing nito lagi sa bahay ni Nico ay lagi nitong bukang bibig ang tungkol doon. Kung anong ginawa nila at anong kinain.

I looked at the door when it opened. My secretary smiled at me and I smiled back. Pumasok ito at lumapit sa aking lamesa.

She handed me the documents I've asked her to get. “Ito na po iyong pinapakuha niyo, Doc,” she politely said.

Tinanggap ko ito at nagpasamat. "Thank you, you can eat your early lunch since we're not busy today,” I said.

“Sige po, Doc.” Umalis na ito pagkatapos. Naiwan na ulit ako mag-isa.

I opened the envelope and started working again.

Nang sumapit ang dinner ay sinundo ako ni Steve, kasama niya si Solene.

We'll be having dinner with Nico and Lucas tonight. Request ito ni Lucas kagabi kaya naman pinagbigyan na namin ito.

Sabay kaming tatlong pumasok sa restaurant. May lumapit naman agad sa aming waiter at ginaya kami sa VVIP nila. Kumpara sa VIP mas malaki ito at elgante ng loob ng buksan ito ng lalaking waiter.

There is a large crystal chandelier in the center and a large round table. Plates, and cutlery were elegantly placed on the table.

“Mommy!!” Masayang bungad ni Lucas pagkakita sa amin.

Bumaba ito sa kinauupuan nito at tumakbo para yakapin ako. I ruffled his hair.

Bumati si Steve kay Nico.

“How are you?” malambing na tanong ko rito.

He looked up to look at me. “I had so much fun, mom! I met Daddy's parents! My grandparents! I love them already, mommy! They gave me an airplane! I thought it was just a toy, Mom! But it's a real one!” Manghang kwento ni Lucas.

My eyes widened after hearing what I heard. W-What? A real airplane?!

I looked at Nico, who just shrugged his shoulders. “It's not me who gave it,” he said defensively, even if I'm not talking.

Huminga ako ng malalim.

Naramdaman kong inakbayan ako ni Steve. Napatingin ako sa rito. “Umupo na tayo?” yaya nito.

I nodded. Lumayo na si Lucas at bumalik na sa tabi ni Nico.

Umupo na kami ni Steve. Katabi ko si Solene sa left side ko at sa right side naman ay si Steve. Sa harapan ko nakaupo si Nico.

Nico looked at the man in a three-piece suit with an earpiece in his ear who was standing behind him.

Tumango naman ito kay Nico. Umalis ito at pagbalik ay may kasama ng mga waitress na may bitbit na mga pagkain.

“I'm happy that we're all complete!” Lucas happily clapped his hands.

“We'll do this often, son, if you want.” Nico said to his son, who really looks happy.

Lucas smiled at him and nodded. We started eating when the food was finally served. I'm currently eating wagyu steak.

“I am happy with the course I'm taking, Tito. I'm a student nurse,” Solane politely answered Nico's question while we were eating.
