After a year away, the familiar sights and sounds of the wwe world felt both comforting and overwhelming. You hadn't expected to return so soon, but life had a way of pulling you back. As your car wound down the familiar roads, your heart raced—anticipation and nerves mixed with nostalgia. The last time you were here, things were different. You were different.
Back then, Jey had been your everything, but long-distance unraveled it all. After months of fading conversations, the breakup came, and you told yourself it was for the best. Or at least, you tried to believe that.
Now, here you were again, and the thought of seeing him after all this time left a knot in your stomach. Sarah, your best friend, had warned you he'd moved on. "Her name's Sofia . They've been together a few months," she'd said over the phone. You didn't let yourself dwell on it too much as you pulled up to Sarah's house. This was home, and she was waiting for you inside.
You didn't knock, just like old times. As you stepped into the living room, you froze. There, on the couch, were Jey and Sofia—sitting far too close. His arm was slung over the cushions behind her, her head leaned slightly into him. The sight hit you hard.
Jey looked up, and the moment his eyes met yours, everything stopped. The casual look on his face vanished, replaced with shock—maybe even disbelief. His arm slid off the back of the couch, his body stiffened, and for a second, the room felt smaller, the air heavier.
He just stared, as if processing that you were really there. You could see it in his eyes—the rush of old memories. Every fight, every kiss, every late-night call came flooding back. His silence was deafening, and for a moment, neither of you moved.
Sarah's voice broke the tension from somewhere behind you. "Oh my God, you're finally here!" she called, rushing in to hug you.
But all you could feel were Jeys eyes still locked on you, and in that moment, everything between you felt far from over.
*you hugged sarah*
Sarah's arms wrapped around you tight, her familiar scent and presence a comfort. She pulled back, a huge grin on her face.
"I can't believe you're actually here," she said, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "It's been forever. I've missed you."
"I've missed you more" you spoke with a smile as you hugged her back avoiding jeys gaze
now with the fact that you knew he had moved on, the tension in the room was just at a different level.
"baby, I'm gonna go upstairs to grab a hoodie I'll be back" you heard sofia say and you scoffed under ur breath as you heard her footsteps up the stairs
you looked back at jey who gave you this look and that was enough for you, whatever had happened between you guys was far from over. and the look said exactly that.
